That was only if Liverpool won the UCL. If we finished 4th and Liverpool finished outside top 4 and won UCL and Arsenal won Europa then yes the 4th team would lose their spot, however because Real knocked out Liverpool, we have nothing to worry about if we finish 4th and Arsenal win Europa.

Rwb is the biggest question mark for me will he play James who looked brilliant or go with Cesar again. I think Tuchel will go with Mount, Werner and Pulisic despite the fact that Kai scored twice today. Real won't go all in as soon as the game starts but we should use Werner's pace later on once they start pushing forward. We only need to score if they do it first so we need a good shift from Mount, Kante and Werner and Pulisic will probably win at least 5 fouls.

If this was the middle of the season I'd probably be calling for us to change formation to allow more of our attackers to play.

All seem to be starting to find good form at the minute (and yes I include Werner in that).

Nah. Citeh have the title in the bag regardless. Have to worry about keeping the teams behind us as much as possible for difficult run-in.

Let’s hope west ham and Liverpool drop points with their games as that would in theory make it more of a easier run in.

I still think we can get third if we avoid defeat to arsenal and city. And manage to beat Leicester at home.

 

Mandy was great today probably his best game for us .. Werner was sharp..ziyech a little his and miss.. we should  have scored 3-4 today

James was class so.many headers won at the back post. Strong case to start rwb vs Madrid.

I would prefer Liverpool to either draw or lose. As that would potentially remove them out of the top4 equation.

Good game, no drama except here in the match thread. Gilmour was much better in the 2nd half, a bit disapointed with Alonso's free kick he's usually much better then that.

Wish I could agree, but I'm worried that the dippers can pull off 5 straight and end up on 69.  Not as convinced as some out here that we can cruise to 3 wins and finish at 70.  So shameful as it may be, I'm with Ole and the Pen Boys tomorrow.

Personally I think he's a much better option than Azpi at this point. We need people who can outmuscle their left side

I know Mount & Kai (A man that rescues donkeys in his spare time) were top draw today my motm is Mendy made a couple of saves that kept the game plan alive and led to the 3 points , great way to prepare for the massive semi next week!

They do, same as the CL winners.  But a league can have 5 teams in the CL if the EL or CL winner is from the same league.  But no league can have 6 teams in the CL, so if the EL and CL winners are both from the same league and both finish out of the top 4, then the 4th place team from the league gets dropped.  The only scenario this season would be if Arse win the EL and we win the CL and finish outside the top 4.  Then either Spuds, Dippers, Hammers, Everton or even Foxes would be SOL.

They changed the rule to allow 5 from a league after we finished 6th and won the 2012 CL.  Knocked 4th place 'Aarry and the Spuds out of the next years CL 🙂   They changed the rule in 2015 to allow 5 teams.
