May 21, 20215 yr Feeling pretty calm heading into this game. Sure, we should not have been in this situation even if were just a little better in the last 37 games, or the last 5 games for that matter. However, it's all in our hands, and if we are serious about our ambition, just go out there and win this game, do not leave in the hands of the other teams or VAR. Villa has nothing to play for point wise, of course they will put up a good performance in front of their home crowd, but don't think we will see the back to the wall defence for 90 minutes, which is we been failing to negotiate all season. Just play the best 11 and get it done with, next week is next week's problem.
May 22, 20215 yr Truth of the matter is if we don't beat villa and lose against City are we still in transition?. There is no doubt in my mind we have the squad(at last) to challenge the best in the world, but still not convinced with TT.

Eee Aww (KH) & AC fit again which is good news for the 29th. On paper Bin dippers & Foxes have easier home games, i'll have all 3 games on (2 tellies & I pad), squeeky bum time on Sunday! Facing a Palace side with no Eze and half the squad out of contract/ facing Spurs. Yup I would say very easy.

Yeah some interesting goals there and combos you often don't see, must be a last match of the season thing and the way Joe Cole battled to get that cross over was impressive. Ashley Cole's goal too didn't recall any of those.
May 22, 20215 yr Nevermind the goals, look at those beauties they're wearing! 😍 I just love the 01 onwards kits (Umbro/Fly Emirates) and the Adidas/Samsung partnership was great as well.
May 22, 20215 yr My son has just reminded me that this was the last game of the season, too. Unbelievable goal - his best ever IMO. Edited May 22, 20215 yr by Backbiter

May 22, 20215 yr What a player Anelka was. Just the right player at right time to balance the team. Top class when he wanted to be. Tomorrow - let’s focus and win
May 22, 20215 yr I guess the irony for me going into matchday 38 is that we play away. You would assume that were we at home and had the fans it would be enough. Ironically, under TT we have never lost away and only ever at home and mutual (Fa cup final). So following the trend I would argue it won't matter too much the home advantage that Liverpool and Leicester have because a good team wins regardless and under TT that's what we have been doing. May 22, 20215 yr Funny feeling we will draw and so will Leicester - Liverpool win and finish 3rd ..only for the pundits award them 'Team of the Year' and Klopp gets all the praise for pulling them out of the mire to a Champions League......I hope not

May 23, 20215 yr It’s strange how to narrative has changed throughout the week. The media were saying that we were “one foot in the CL” after tuesdays result...and now, it’s “Chelsea will struggle and have the hardest game”.
May 23, 20215 yr I think playing away and the fans being back will leave space open for us. We tend to struggle against packed defences. Come on Chelsea - finish the job!
May 23, 20215 yr GAMEDAY!!! Last game of the season in the league, 3 points to secure our top 4 spot and get the CL for the next season. Must win game for us, won't be easy but we should get a win here. COME ON CHELS!!!
May 23, 20215 yr This is it, an early couple of goals to settle the nerves would be nice. Fully expect a 98th minute 1-0 winner today, just not sure from which side...
