I'm not defending him but we aren't exactly the most coherent team going forward. We struggle to make the right choices when attacking more often than not.

TT will need to change that next season if we want to have better success.

He can't change anything with a £100m white elephant up front.

He can though and he isn’t exactly helping his front man by trying to play possession football with a back 5. All his better games for us have come when we have gotten the ball upfield quickly. Yesterday there were moments when he was raising his hands & pointing for the ball to be played earlier, but it was either an extra touch, or an extra pass.

Their will always be times when he asks for the ball and it doesn't come his way, that happens to all strikers.

But when it does come his way he lacks a combination of a poor first touch and surprisingly lack of strength, you watch how a big man like Rudiger completely dominates opponents with his strength, Lukaku should be doing the same with his strength.

How anyone can defend him is beyond me.

Genuinely is the worst striker I’ve seen. We’ve had some bad ones like Torres and Shevchenko but they at least contributed with their overall play.

Lukaku, he can’t even control the effing ball!

It's always Lukaku with the most embarrassing stats.

For me, he is the worst signing we have ever made. We have had worse players, like Bakayoko, but Lukaku is the one that has hurt us the most and the one that anybody could have predicted was going to happen. Only we would sell him, try and sign him back (dodged a bullet at the time) watch him perform like sh*t at United, then go back in for him a few seasons later because he was good in a league that has fallen off so much that a player like Ashley Young can be a key player and win a title.

These flop signings have to stop. They are too frequent and they are always the ones bought in for massive money and put on massive wages. None of our big signings are well thought out.

Our record on big signings is horrendous. They never work out.

The thing that confuses me about Lukaku is that he will finish the season as our top scorer with 15 goals. That’s still a decent return for a poor season. However we know the form has been poor and the goals have been against lower teams, not big teams.

There is no way, shape or form, that 15 goals against this lot marks a good season. 4 goals against the Top half.

We bash his limitations as a footballer and the only thing he had going for him, which was scoring goals, he provides a pitiful return.

Believe it or not, some actually want him to stay. As if skying his shot over the bar on his stronger foot in front of goal wasn't enough.

It's not a decent return given what he takes away systematically and how sh*t he is in general play.

He needs to be pushing a 1 a game tally (with a solid amount of those game/season changing goals) for his place to even be remotely justified.

It genuinely wouldn't surprise me if he stat pads a brace vs on the beach Leicester and a hatrick vs a woeful Watford and all summer the narrative will be "see he's scored 20 despite everything".

Everyone's record on big signings is horrendous.

Grealish, dembele, Coutinho, Pogba, hazard, Maguire, all feature in the top 20 biggest transfers of all time.

Not Liverpool's. Nor City's for that matter.

You'll find a player here and there, but their top 5-10 is nearly spotless. (Grealish will come good next season as this is a habit under Pep)

Grealish, KDB, Haaland, Dias, Mahrez, Cancelo, Laporte, Sterling, Rodri, Mendy

VVD, Allison, Keita, Benteke, Fabinho, Diaz, Jota, Salah, Mane, Firmino,

Lukaku, Havertz, Kepa, Morata, Pulisic, Torres, Jorginho, Werner, Chilwell, Kovacic

Why is Havertz not highlighted too?.

Because anyone can see their is an actual quality footballer in him.

Wish we could sat the same for Timo and Rom.

So it's not all about stats?! You can use your eyes too? Why didn't anyone tell me...

Ours are more famously horrendous though and more frequent.

Like it or not Lukaku is Chelsea's highest goal scorer despite being injured and not starting many games but he yet he gets all the hate!!!!

And yet he has more bad games than he does good and a guy with no first touch outscores him with much less minutes.

So yeah he should of have been highlighted. Being a good footballer doesnt escape you from being a poor signing.

Doesn't he have worse stats that last season too?.

Another thing to consider is that off City's 10, Pep made 9 of them.

Of Liverpools, Klopp made 8

Tuchel, 1.
