Question is does TT start the 3 goals in 2 games Rom or his first choice but woefully out of form Kai up top?

I'd be starting Lukaku. Confidence is everything as we have seen over the years with the likes of Werner, Torres and @Nibs on the pull. It's coming back with Lukaku whilst Havertz is looking more like a hat stand than a striker just now. That's not to say Lukaku suddenly looks like Marco van Basten but i though tonight was his best performance for us since those early games.  More involved, better link up play, moaned like f**k about service (yes i want that in a centre forward) and also helped out defensively when needed.

His help on set pieces would be useful against VVD, Matip or Konate as well.

Would be a problem as to who to play alongside him for supply.

Past two games we have seen Pulisic and Mount explore every possible option to not pass to Rom, Werner tunnel vision rather than ever try to pass to him. Probably Ziyech in his brief cameo played more forward thinking passes to Rom than the other 3 combined.

Mount and either Ziyech or CP for me.

On paper kai but it is impossible to drop Rom after these two games and like you said kai is in a funk

If he keeps this form up till the end of the season should we keep him?

Lol we won't have the option to get rid of him. Only sides thar would pay a decent fee and wages to make him go are City, United, Barca, Real and PSG and if we are lucky maybe the latter might bite. I doubt it though.

He could give himself an out and pick both with Mason like he did at Anfield.

I won't lie, I was happy when he scored that goal.

I have to admit that there is a change in his attitude in the game as well.

His performance was good last night even not counting the goal, probably the first time since he's been here bar maybe Arsenal away that we've created such a high volume of chances with him on the pitch.

I still hope he leaves at the end of the season but if he doesn't then he will win me round if I see this most weeks and that included big games/clutch matches.

His attitude has changed and no wonder he's scoring goals now, if this continues everyone should be happy.

With that said he does show frustration when someone doesn't give him the ball but he's probably going to start the match in the FA Cup final, maybe it's time to win the duels against Van Dijk since at the start of the season his shots were blocked and he couldn't score if he's hungry it's a no-brainer to start him.

Absolutely no problem with this. Far too often we don't play him in and choose the safer ball, constantly recycling and eventually losing the good position we had created.  When we play quicker and a little bit more direct it benefits the full team and definitely Lukaku.

Looked to me like Mount and CP were trying to find every possible option not to pass to Lukaku. On Saturday we need everyone pulling in the same direction as a team, cause you can be sure the opponent will be.

Go on Rom, win us the game on Saturday and all will be forgotten. You’ll become a club hero and the fans will love you forever (until your next interview).

Ah JM7 you are such a dreamer. Rom overcoming VVD and whoever he is paired with, and even if he does our defence holding up when they have only kept out 10 man Leeds and West Ham reserves. Lol

I´ll say something crazy. With the rumours out of Germany that Lewandowski will leave Bayern Munich this summer, I could actually see a player swap with Lukaku happening. Lukaku would bang in 30 goals in that league, which gives Bayern justification for this ultimately transitional signing, while they rebuild their proper team over the next three years for a CL challenge.

Lukaku's agent planning talks over Chelsea future

Romelu Lukaku's agent is planning on having talks with Chelsea this summer about the forward's future.

Federico Pastorello says Lukaku is fully focused on playing for Chelsea but admits there have been "problems" since he moved from Inter Milan in a £97m deal last summer.

"Given the figures of the transfer, no one could have expected such a situation," Pastorello says in today's La Repubblica. "I’m not the one to discuss technical choices, but it is obvious that there was a problem.

"The numbers, however, must be weighted: he is the best scorer of the team this season, even with a lower playing time compared to his teammates.

"The situation must be carefully evaluated, now there’s a Champions League spot to secure, and the FA Cup final. Romelu is totally focused on that, we have not talked about anything else."

Asked about the possibility of Lukaku returning to Inter this summer, Pastorello said: "Much ado about nothing. He has their club and their fans in his heart, he has never hidden that, as well as his love for Anderlecht where he would like to end his career.

"It’s nonsense to speculate on negotiations. Chelsea have just defined the takeover of the club, we still don’t know our new interlocutors, let alone if we can hypothesize talks with Inter, AC Milan or whatever. We have to be patient and wait."
