Remove the bid and blacklist Sevilla and Barca. Never work with them again.

Sevilla yes, Barcelona no. They are only doing what Sevilla is allowing them to do.

Barca are a bigger club than we are and their attractiveness to players simply dwarfs ours. If they want a player we're in for then that player is almost certain to choose them. It's just a football fact.

I really hate this defeatism. Was there was not a time in recent history when Tottenham held far greater pull for players than Liverpool?

We should never just accept our place feeding off the scraps under the big boys' table. No pecking order is permanent.

Liverpool are an absolute dot in terms of club size compared to Barca.

The 2 Spanish giants are both far above any club in England.

Madrid took Ronaldo off United while United were the best team in the world and Madrid were struggling to compete in their league.

Unfortunately their pull is unmatched. Unless Barca go bust they and Madrid will always be the dream destination of most players.

On a lighter note...  Let's lies in wait for Sevilla and outbid them for Kounde  s replacement and thwir second alternative or at least use our self as a lever for that club to get premium fee from them

We never seem to learn with Sevilla.. we shld simply walk away.. they wanted to initiate a bidding war.. and they have done us over.. they did us over with Dani Alves .. did us over with JK last term and now again.. let them lose their prized option on the cheap.. plus lose more money they will owe in add one.. Barca the bigger problem is registering salary for players not 5/10 mil here and there..

also if Barca wants to buy Azpi and Alonso I think let them at a fair price.. no one else will buy them and we can do with some offloading.

Lol also spare a thought for our champion player AC who will now be fourth choice there !

But why are Real Madrid and Barcelona the two "biggest" clubs in the eyes of footballers? Most likely because they have the greatest history of success within the lifetimes of current footballers.

However, if the Premier League continues its current trajectory towards domination (albeit Real Madrid bucked the trend in last season's Champions League), then it's very likely England will become the number one destination of choice for footballers inside the next decade.

After all, are Barcelona not putting mortgage upon mortgage on their assets just trying to keep pace with the English clubs right now?

Man City did have that reaction towards Napoli after we got Jorginho. This has nothing to do with the other club which in this case is Barcelona, it’s about Sevilla being super bad towards us and basically playing with our bids while preferring to sell their top rated defender to a La Liga rival.

This transfer with a normal club would have been done already, I have no reason to compare us to Barcelona but how Monchi acted throughout multiple transfer windows is a clear indication that we shouldn’t even be in contact with that club and that wouldn’t be an overreaction at all.

But why would they prefer to sell to their La Liga rival? Mind you, Sevilla will have to shell out 20% of their transfer fee to Bordeaux as per their agreement from when they bought Kounde from the French club. I just don't buy that argument that Monchi'll sell to Barca because he doesn't like Chelsea very much. Even if there were any problems left from last summer, that was on the old regime/owner and nothing to do with Boehly and Co. Monchi is a businessman so his motivation should be to create an auction between two clubs in order to get the most money out of it instead of  doing favours to Barca and end up with less money as a result.

All I'm saying is that if or more likely when Kounde ends up in Barcelona, that our club shouldn't do business with Sevilla anymore. Why would they be so keen to sell to them instead, I have no idea but clearly there are some higher stakes here than just Sevilla willing to get out of this transfer as much as possible.

Also it doesn't look like Barcelona is offering more than us, they are promising to match us only, isn't that the case? Monchi was tricky already last time and had 0 compromise, one price than said another price and now after we met all possible expectations they are still waiting for Barcelona to sign Kounde. If Monchi is just a businessman, it wouldn't matter to him even if Kounde would prefer Barcelona, he would want to sell to us sooner than later so that they have the time to maybe find a replacement for 20m less and finish the transfer. But clearly this isn't the case.

We shouldnt be chasing or waiting for a player who is uncertain if he wishes to join us.

Surely one of the key criteria for an incoming prospect should be his desire to join the club.

Does this Kounde fella even worth all the hype and commotion. Sure, he is probably OK, but not proven in PL and who know if he won't be eaten for breakfast by PL forwards.  If he is messing around with us just pull the offer off and let him go to Putalona.

I have said this before that our entire scouting networks need to be fired and replaced. How come we have not been able to sign a talent player who is not a youth in eons.... What exactly do they do... PSG is probably 10 times richer than us and are getting a defender for 13m... So sad

What a shambles of a window this has been. Slapped about by a club heavily in debt and can't move any of the deadwood on.

CL football next season will be a pipe dream.

You think this is bad, wait until TT has had enough and walks and we get Ted Lasso in charge

Following Chelsea’s long wait for the signing of Jules Kounde, here’s the worst news the Premier League club could get in this pursuit.

According to El Desmarque, the Blues have ‘fallen out of the race’ for the defender, as his entourage ‘take it from granted’ that the London side ‘will definitely not take over his services’.

It’s once again claimed Sevilla and Chelsea had an agreement for the move, but the ‘final document has not arrived’ at the Spanish club. Now both the club and Kounde ‘no longer expect new moves’ from the Stamford Bridge side for the signing.

El Desmarque says the player even had a conversation with Thomas Tuchel, yet the chat ‘did not seduce him’ as much as the one he had with Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez. The report claims the German manager pointed out the Frenchman could be used as a central defender and as a fullback, while the Catalan coach ‘puts in his hands the leadership of Barça’s defence in the next few years’. It’s also written the ‘enthusiasm’ from the Camp Nou chief convinced Kounde more than Chelsea’s bigger financial offer.

The Blues had been bidding €55m for the transfer, and Sevilla, who now negotiate with Barcelona, hope they receive something close to that. It’s said contacts between the two La Liga sides have just started.

I think Tuchel is too honest in these phone calls

Xavi is such a joker, Iranian league PE teacher

he probably told christensen that he also will be the leader for years to come

Won't happen but I'd love it if Barca lowball them to the point Monchi just keeps him for another season.

He will want his full fee. Which is meant to be 51mill plus 5mill add ons.
