Pool was pretty poor I saw City - got a lucky lucky red and penalty ..they were poor too

take the points move on .. KTBFF

Difference is they have a shaky performance once in a while. We on the other hand had questionable performance in the past few games to the point that it became a routine. We need to bounce  back and dominate teams like the beginning of the season

I've seen enough to know that he isn't a 'generational player' any more. You could find a bunch of players better to replace him with

I still don't know how we get the best out of him in this system. People keep saying he is playing a false 9 but he just looks like he has been told to play as a striker. It's that, or he is just playing the role wrong. I think he would be a lot better if he was playing with somebody next to him, because he's not somebody who can lead the line, it's not his style.

Nah in this system the most important positions defensively are the 3 cb. They have been saving everyone game after game. There is some drop off in performance which affect us but it is what it is.

My bigger concern is offensively. We barely created anything and I really2 hate werner and alonso combination. Two limited player playing on the same side is not a really good idea

I agree but Jorginho and co have being poor in controlling the midfield over the last few games has definitely cost us some points.

The drop in performances is more of a mental issue than an injury issue for me. We cannot fold like we have been just because two regular starters are injured, it's not good enough. Everybody's level has dropped, the passes are no longer clean, the movement is no longer there, the defense looks scared, we weren't seeing that only 2 weeks ago. Confidence has just disappeared out of nowhere again in December and I cannot understand why.

Agree. We had the lead in all 3 games.

Big 3 points, maybe a lucky 3 points, but Liverpool and City have had to grind some results out aswell in the last 2 weeks.

Really need to energy of Kante and Kovacic available now, we look very tired.

Alonso came up with a big contribution after the poor mistake he made, but in all honesty his lack of speed and mobility is a real issue.

Hopefully we can grind another win out in midweek, and get some players back for the busy period. Then if Chilwell is out for the season, we need to fix it in January.

I would also bring in a centre back, maybe Kounde. Rudiger is still bang on it, but azpi is starting to fade, Christiensen looks like his head has been turned, and Silva cant play every game.

Not pretty, but job done.

Grueling match, Leeds never stopped running and with our makeshift midfield we were struggling to match them.

Rudiger did well for the penalties as did Jorgy with the finishes.

Havertz used his head at the end to wind down the clock.

Lukaku's best move of the match was probably pulling Rudiger out of the post match melee.

Bielsa made a good sub and noticed how they often overlapped us down the wings suspect our midfield was too slow to support.

On BBC football focus there's a girl that follows Chelsea and she loves Mount, let's hope she gets promoted to MOTD!

That was painful.  Completely played our get out of jail card there, but we were due one.

What has happened.  The second half performance, and most of first, was toothless. I don't recall their keep making a save.  TT said midweek when we went ahead we stopped playing, and that repeated today in second half.

How do we turn this around?  We can't even pass 4 times across the back now without hoofing it out the sideline.

I think we have to put it into context aswell, Saturday game against a bielsa side after a Wednesday away trip to Russia in December.

We havent been playing well, and this certainly wasnt the game you would expect us to just go through the gears and blow them away.

Lets see how these next 2 games go, hopefully it will be a comfortable win against Everton, but Wolves will be a very tough game.

Liverpool got a last ditch winner vs Wolves last week too. I don't think they are playing that great. Neither are City. They are only doing slightly better than us. We aren't playing well at all, but with some key injuries it's understandable.

Rudi is such a natural leader, Andres will fade out if he's the one leading the back. he was not at the game today once again, shaky, panic and their 3rd from his side. I am worried

Yea but it is what it is. If Kante is available, it is easy peasy, just bring kantes for ruben and all problem are solved but he is not available.

Imo Tuchel should probably bring maybe barkley for mount or havertz to add more body in midfield.

But it is what it is. Without suddenly making chilwell and kante back there is not much thing that we can do.

I do wonder why CHO is being dropped though. I really2 hate alonso + Werner combination. CHO + Alonso should be perfect, a winger who prefer to start wide + WB who offer box threat.

Mount and Jorginho were clearly getting very frustrated at some of our passes today. I have never seen Mount get so pissed like I saw today. Mutilple times Jorginho was getting irritated at the defenders losing composure and making the wrong pass. Towards the end, Jorginho had a right go at James for playing it back to Christensen which forced him to smash it long. Jorginho wanted it played between the lines, but James wouldn't do it.

The sudden loss in composure is odd. Yes, we have made mistakes playing out of the back recently, but that happens to every team that plays this way. The problem is that our players seem to dwell on it, they don't seem to ever get over it.

Doesn’t really help when kante, kovacic are missing in midfield.

also christensen has looked suspect recently

That's why the defense has been exposed. Those 2 were what hid alot of weaknesses in our defence.

I’m still expecting an interim manager before seasons end. Injuries, yes, but bloody awful every week from Burnley, also yes. I can picture Roman angrily pacing his yacht right now.

We've gifted United a point and West Ham the win, was about time luck came our way finally. If you ask me we are not playing that bad as it might look, it is just a matter of confidence and the usually reliable defence seems to be all over the place currently.

Massive three points hopefully we go on a run now. Up the Chels!!!

Any updates on Kante and Chillwell? Kova recovered from his injury but is unavailable due to Covid so it’s a matter of time

Tuchel said Kante is expected to train on tuesday. I dont see him starting against leeds but he might be a good sub

We got the 3 points but it's not that convincing considering that Leeds were missing a few starters. I mean sure we're missing players as well but when a smaller team is too it should be much harder for them to cope with it.

Tuchel got saved by the penalties, otherwise a draw or loss here would have been really bad.
