December 22, 20214 yr Pulisic has some proving to do. I just can't really grasp on what he is good at. Not a pure winger, not a striker, not a false 9...
December 22, 20214 yr Jorginho for Saul and Pulisic for Barkley are the two subs I hope we are making :-)
December 22, 20214 yr Vale looks very tidy, keeps possession well in tight areas, would love to see him on the ball more. Soonsup-bell has made some great runs but no vision to find him, but he has still shown promise. Simons, the least impressive of the 3 so far. Looks nervous, hopefully grows into second half. Overall as expected, Alonso and Saul having decent games, Barkley playing poorly, back 3 done okay, but Sarr's limited passing makes for a very slow build up. Hoping to see Webster get a decent run out.
December 22, 20214 yr Maybe i see it though tinted glasses but not so long ago we created massive overload where we had as many players as the opposition had defenders in attack and we were direct with quick play. It is just missing or we are afraid to make mistakes.
December 22, 20214 yr Don't understand why Soonsup-Bell has come off, he did nothing wrong in the first half. It should have been Barkley. I don't understand why young players seem to be held to different standards than senior players.
December 22, 20214 yr Tuchel going for the 'most boring midfield of all time' award by bringing on Jorginho to play next to Saúl. Sorry to see Soonsup-Bell go off, understandable that Tuchel wants to bring on someone more experience with the physicality of a fully-grown adult... wait... never mind.
December 22, 20214 yr Shame Kova he gone off but understandable. He was almost certainly our best player first half.

It's like the players lose their confidence and become nervous instantly. I don't know what causes it, it seems like a mental thing more than anything. Maybe it's a lack of leadership in attack. December 22, 20214 yr Looks like we've switched to a 3-5-2 with Vale and Pulisic as split strikers, and Jorginho at the base of midfield behind Saúl and Barkley. Simons in particular is taking advantage of the additional cover to position himself further forward. You know Martin, he's almost playing as a right-winger...
December 22, 20214 yr Looked like Barkley could have got off a shot rather than trying to bundle it in sliding
