Random: is there still an argument that Liverpool have better strength in depth than us when you look at both benches?

NO

I missed that. Odd given he played vs Leeds. Maybe the stomach issues again as you said.

Is concerning as Liverpool have 3 realistic plans to alter their front line and we don't have any without Havertz. That and we have to turn to Sarr or an out of form Dave if we lose a defender or wingback.

Ziyech can still bring something out of bench, but can never be sure if it will be the good or bad.

Apart from goalscorer their overall bench is weaker I think

Agreed. It’s crazy how few injuries they get over the course of the last four years. VVD was only big one I remember

Anyone else in the 'old bracket' miss the old TV coverage when you were a kid....breakfast with the teams, hotel, on the coach etc with commentary by the legendary Ken Wolstenholme on BBC and later Brian Moore on ITV..used to start around 10am if I remember all the way to kick off.

Yeah but he seems more miss than hit against quality opposition.

We know Werner is useless, we don't need to discuss him as an option. So basically is on Rom, CP and Mount to player blinders otherwise we have no decent replacements.

We can add steel to the midfield in Kante and RLC but that is where our quality ends. We got a slim chance Ziyech may catch fire but the rest of the bench is either pasted it or not good enough.

Havertz is a huge blow, little worried with our options from the bench. I really hope our players will make us proud after today's game.

I guess this is the best lineup we could offer to the game, liked the way Tuchel put Chalobah in the lineup again.

Let's do it, COME ON CHELS!!!!

Wonder why, when we are playing a side who plays in all red, we have been switched from our blue kit?

To pretend it wasn´t us? Looking at those line-ups, they might score 11 again.....this time without penalties.

You're forgetting Ross...English player in a FA Cup Final - every English dream.  Somehow TT doesn't fancy him but I reckon if he does get a chance today he just might shine and get stuck in..........at least he'll have a shot on target.

Set pieces are huge. Mount and Alonso need to pull their fingers out and deliver quality corners constantly for once in their careers.

We have Trev, Silva, Rudiger and Lukaku who are all mustard in the air. Pool have only 2 great VVD and Konate, and 2 decent Henderson and Keita, at defending them. If we want to win we have to deliver quality crosses, free kicks and corners.

But I hold little hope of the habit of the season changing today.

Spongebob Squarepants Reaction GIF

Watch lukaku get marked out the game by Van Dijk!

No havertz is a huge blow and lukaku has shown nothing all season against good defenders

If we win this it will be a right little miracle

For me this game will depend on our service to Lukaku and if he is actually in form can he convert half chances. Other than that hopefully Mason and Christian can step up and be decisive in front of goal as well.

Edit: Also to cut out the recent individual mistakes and keep it tight throughout.

Feeling it now.

my slight worry is we don’t have anyone from the bench that really scores goals. Ziyech is hit and miss. And werner is quick but no end product. This is all on lukaku to at least do something upfront.

Liverpool are favorites but anything can happen in a final

I wouldn't underestimate Pulisic and Mount before looking toward the bench let's see what these lads do first.

Barkley is a wildcard, as is Ziyech. In fact Saul has good movement off the ball and could have an impact. Assuming it's 5 subs we have decent options. Werner will be helpful from the 60min mark when their defence get a bit tired he may be able to stretch the play and get in a good chance or two off the bench.

Edit: Also Ngolo!!!

Absolutely! Front cover of the Radio Times had a picture of the Cup sandwiched between the faces of the two Captains. It was a real TV fest in the days when this was about the only live football on TV. It may have been in black and white (mostly) but it was a magic day …
