Under Sarri and Lampard I genuinely cannot think of many 85 minute plus winners we got (Cardiff away, anymore?). And that was offside as well! Abraham vs Arsenal (under Lamps) was a very good one, came from behind as well. Regarding the Jorginho penalty - the lack of intensity in the shot isn't the problem so much as the fact that he successfully executed his usual trick (i.e. the stutter step which tricks the goalkeeper into committing his weight one way or the other), then inexplicably didn't stick it in the opposite corner! I think Jorginho played poorly today, but can only explain this as a total brain fart.

In these type of games it feels we have a mental block until we open the scoring, as soon as we've done that the floodgates open and we look very good but we always need an early goal. Lukaku could have had a Ole Gunnar Solskjaer esque career here if he knew his place and accepted he's a number 2/super sub but his ego got in the way. itss allllll gooood mannnnnn 😉

He got cramp from barely getting out of walking pace all day. This game lacked intensity and he still picked up cramp. Maybe this is why our group keeps breaking down with injuries, they cannot deal with the intensity of the Premier League.
April 24, 20224 yr A bit disappointed there. I was getting used to the post Abramovich Chelsea and then they go and win a game to remind us of how it used to be.

Can’t you read .. I said OUR overall performance. That’s your problem your that keen to protect Jorginho you lose all sense of proportion with regards to him. Edited April 24, 20224 yr by charierre

There are plenty of options in that position Declan rice is not world class .. the conversation is about a more physical and robust midfielder

Did you miss him constantly pushing forward and even being around in the final third a couple of times in the second half? I mean someone needs to stay back a bit not everyone can play like Kante without any care in the world if the ball is lost. Jorginho did his role before the penalty, West Ham couldn't do anything, compare it to the Arsenal game of chaos and it's night and day.

Can see Rom playing more until the end of the season the way Havertz and Werner are playing sadly. Havertz can be brilliant, most talented player in our squad no doubt. But he looks like he's already packed his bags for his summer holidays. And Werner, is just....................................Werner.

April 24, 20224 yr We now have 2pt less than we've managed all season last year. Considering everything that happened this season, I'll gladly take it as a signal that TT is doing wonders with this team. He may already given up on this season, but barring some awful new owners, I guess there's hope for the next one.

I fear you may be right, I've said for a while now i fear Rom will get another run of constant 90 minutes when he does the basics off the bench a couple of times. I want to see us stick with Kai up top now and don't panic drop him, let Lukaku come on fresh at 70 in games like today when Kai isn't cutting it.

If you think Jorginho or anybody put in an intense and energetic performance, then you're deluded. Second half we did I think it was obvious. How many times we got the ball in the box in the second half, do you honestly believe that when Man City plays like this and eventually scores that their fans complain about them having no intensity? The goal was coming it's just unlucky that Werner didn't score before getting off and Kante had his shot blocked too. I just think it's two different things to complain about but fact is we dominated the game and deserved the win.

Behind all of it, but he is just too much for me to take. No engine, no pace, no ability to attack Nonsense. The same man that won the euros and ucl last season. He is just out of form due to being over played. He will come good and be fresh next season since he won't have to play in the world cup
