Why the feck do we need to spunk £50m on this guy who's only 5 foot 7...Koulibaly is left footed and we've already got 7 LBs on the books including Emerson who had great loan season at OM and won the Euros...we need a CB or RB not this guy...this smacks of desperation and sh*te leadership...

The main reason our season collapsed last season was lack of wingback depth.

Absolutely is needed.

I'm confused about the "we have more pressing matters" comments. Yes, we need another CB and I stll have many doubts about our attack, but we also really need cover for our fall back / wing backs. Alonso wants to leave, he needs to be replaced and Emerson is not a good backup option. Going for Cucurella doesn't mean we aren't still pushing to fix other areas of our squad.

He's not. Also with Alonso wanting to leave and Chilwell still a bit of a question mark because of his injury, it kind of makes sense if we have the funds. CB way more pressing though, obviously.

We can go and get Belotti for free and sell Michy for any amount while we keep Broja and Belotti as CFs

Looks like Emerson is leaving along with Alonso. I think that is why we are signing him. But the price is much too high. 30m for a backup would be the limit.
