August 30, 20223 yr Coming back from another gutless away game, went to Leeds as well. We have no one in that team with any bollocks. Apart from a five minutes from Broja we had no fight or bottle. Going to be a long old season. Even with all the money we have spent I still feel we are four players short, a proper striker, a center half, a ball winning centre midfielder who won't be muscled off the ball and a goal keeper. I hate being negative but we lack any bottle. We need a Jt, Essien, Drogba/Costa and a Big Pete type of players. More fight Chel

What he did afterwards got him sacked. He did have Jorginho in the starting lineup too when he fnished top 4 anyway so you have no point here at all.
August 30, 20223 yr Doesn't matter who we buy. Our slow endless balll retention sucks the life out of the game and sucks the enthusiasm out of our support too, we've seen when the team are let off the leash like Madrid away we can play exciting attacking football. There's no life in the team , no energy, look at Adams by just sheer work rate was able to unsettle the defence , Leeds did the same. I said let's hope Leeds was the low point of the season. let's hope Southampton was the low point. Jesus ,TT is moaning about lack of depth in the squad, bizarre interview.

Top coaches turn good players into great players. If we had Conte with James and Cucurella, we would be in the talk for a title. He even turned Lukaku into a world beater! The guy is a miracle worker. It's a simple formula. He insists that the players are fit enough. The weak fall away and the fighters deliver. The issue us that the footballing world is full of the weak and therefore he will eventually be ganged up on as he was here. He saw it at spuds early so shifted the weak whingers, Alli, le celso, the other gangly left footed tw@t whose name I forget (not Bale the midfielder). We should have backed Conte. The biggest mistake since pulling the rip cord on Carlo too soon.

August 30, 20223 yr Yet another inexcusable interview by TT after the game...sounds like he's relying on what comes in during the next 2 days...well f**k me he better bring 11 players in then. He says we weren't tough enough in the middle...FFS been like that for years. Bemoaning the lack of goals since he arrived...THEN f**k IT FIX IT instead of binning every forward in the club since you've been here you should have worked with them...FFS Edited August 30, 20223 yr by CFCCAN
August 30, 20223 yr That was really hard to watch, not going to single out each player and manager and call them names. The team is still in pre-season mode, nothing is up to scrap even our fitness. Front GK to the striker we are having the worst since Tuchel took over, just can't win games when we have that many cracks in the team. New players just came in or yet to come, there are players wanted out but had to stay, and others just out of form. Don't look at the table, we are the team in trouble, not United or Liverpool. It will be a long tough season, but we are at where Arsenal was this time last season, there are still plenty of time and opportunities to turn this around, especially with players to come.
August 30, 20223 yr If you put someone in front of the telly to watch that second half and told them someone was leading 2-1 I think they would have assumed it was us. Saints had more chances, pressed more, worked harder, showed more interest. We looked happy to sit back and showed little interest in attacking. You have to laugh, you really do. I don't think Todd, Clearlake and Co spent the money they did, are making the signings they are, for that sort of football and to lose to dross like Leeds and Southampton.

If we were winning ok you can put up with the football as it is but our football is sh*t and that is an awful, awful return in the league. Why is TT not under serious pressure nevermind talks of a new contract?

I don't think Todd, Clearlake and Co spent the money they did, are making the signings they are, for that sort of football and to lose to dross like Leeds and Southampton. One of our biggest strengths was our press. It doesn't work anymore and thus a significant part of our tactic is gone. Combine that with the fact that our defensive tactic is played by mostly players that are 30+ years old and it's a bad combination. We don't have the energy anymore, every game is being played like a routinely job and that gets shut down as soon as the sheer will of the opposition is there. We spent money on a Werner upgrade which is Sterling and fair enough he's simply a better player. Cucurella was needed as Chilwell was coming back from a long term injury and Alonso isn't in the mix, Koulibably came a few years late but he's also the replacement of Rudiger. Lastly we lost the 100m striker in Lukaku that didn't work out. Our spending is necessary in order to even have a chance to keep a similar level of being a top 4 team. We're lucky that T.Silva isn't injured for example because realistically he should be injured by now after being 37 and playing all the time PL matches.

I know Boehly isn’t Abramovich but we’ll struggle to get a Europa league spot at this rate. Our CL win has papered over the cracks for too long

August 30, 20223 yr I'd like to comment on the team chemistry... but there wasn't any. just waiting for word on a new manager now... 🤬🤬🤬
August 30, 20223 yr Don’t know what that was. What was our midfield to start with? Just Jorginho? Doesn’t Tuchel learn from our previous performances? Why are Ziyech and Pulisic getting game time while wanting to leave? While Gilmour, Chalobah and Ampadu, who can play in midfield, and actually want to stay, are on the bench? I don’t get what Tuchel is doing. I really don’t. It’s almost like he’s setting us up to lose games.

August 30, 20223 yr I’m sorry, TT is hugely underwhelming. He basically put some structure, added tactics around Frank’s squad and won the CL - which was a fantastic achievement. 200M later, we are significantly worse off than last season - we’re playing badly, new signings don’t fit and the players look like they have zero respect for him. He persists in playing ‘more experienced’ players the perfect example is - does anyone think that Jorginho is better than Billy G? His tactics are a mess, he blames the players constantly and his purchases make little or no sense - there might be a reason he doesn’t stay at big clubs longer than 2 years…
August 30, 20223 yr 54 minutes ago, Spiller86 said: What? Are you forgetting the way he has carried us in every big European game in that time? Madrid tie two years ago is a particular standout. I agree on his fitness challenges though. Seems to be that we are so reliant on him that he is often rushed back in. We are need of a strong DM type very soon. You can't be playing Jorginho there on his own in a back 4. You're asking for trouble. It is either a back 3 with Jorginho or a back 2 with someone else doing the defensive role. I wouldn't be overly worried though. Hopefully this elicits the right reaction from the new owners and leads to the reinforcements we need. He didn't carry us, he performed at a high level, same as everybody else in the tournament that year. Take out most of those players that played the majority of the big games in the Champions League that season, and we don't win it.
