Honestly no disrespect to Tuchel but it is absolutely refreshing having a manager that isn’t forcing injured players in. No doubt Kante would’ve started today.

We are playing Wolves B team tho. That said, we look very promising. The bounce has arrived and may it continue!

With no Sterling, no Silva, no Kova, no Auba, no Kante, no, Chilwell, no James, no Fofana. Basically second string and still beat Wolves (a team who we haven't beat in the last 4 games against them) 3-0. I am positive we wouldn't have got a result like that against them 6 weeks ago.

We drew 0-0 with wolves twice last season.

If we can make teams look terrible (like city do) to the point some of our fans say things like "it's only Wolves" then that'll do me, comparisons to last season aren't needed to prove Potter is doing a great job.

We played Leeds who did not have Bamford, Firpo, Cooper and Ayling and they beat us 3-0. You could say then we played Leeds 'B' team. Yes we played Wolves at a good time but let's now downplay the performance and result. We played a weakened Leeds team in August and got battered so yeah I agree with @enigma that this performance may not have happened a few weeks ago.

I'm fairly used to us losing whenever we play teams "at a good time" 😂

Not to mention a Southampton side who have been garbage all season, and lost to them. No getting away from it, we are getting Arsenal like result and they are getting Chelsea like ones, and it stinks.

This is not the discussion though. The debate is will Tuchel risk Kante against wolves?

Because moving forward, Boehly wants footballing people involved in the club. All evidence suggests Tuchel didn't want any outside help with the team. He wanted full control. This makes sense considering his falling out at Mainz, Dortmund, and PSG.

Where did you get that from? Almost all the press put out after Tuchel's sacking stated the exact opposite, that Tuchel was overwhelmingly displeased at having to do everything but coach in the absence of a proper back office team.

Tuchel just wanted to coach but Boehly expected his comment and buy-in on every last bowel movement. Which ironically would have made him the ideal manager that Abramovich wanted.

I got it from Boehly's interview on letting Tuchel go.

He essentially stated their vision for the club was to have a collaborative network between the manager, the scouting department, and the director of football. Since Boehly was playing director of football this summer, I take it he was heavily involved with the team. Now I would agree to the point that maybe Tuchel just wanted to focus on coaching the team, but Boehly's comment that Tuchel didn't share the same vision and, more specifically, that 'there were a lot of walls to break down', gives me the impression the coaching staff were refusing to change. This in itself would of presented a massive headache moving forward as the director of football isn't a role this club is used to. You then take into consideration Tuchel's falling out at Mainz, Dortmund, and PSG, and things start to become unsurprising.

For as long as I can remember I don't recall this club having a director of football in the same essence on what Boehly wants (Edwards, Txiki, Monchi, etc). We've had Emenalo sure but I don't classify him as ever being effective, or offering the same level of involvement with the team and knowledge of football compared to those three. The foundation of City's success is the teamwork between Pep and Txiki.

Potter on Pulisic: "He’s a human being. He wants to play, wants to help. It’s about how you put the players on the pitch so it suits them. The role for Christian was a good one for him. It was high wide left, he could attack the back line, and it was nice for him to score."

Last three sentences in the quote are the difference between a manager who understands attacking football and one who doesn't understand attacking football. Well done, Mr. Potter. Well done.

He understands allright, hence why Pulisic is on the bench watching Raheem Sterling playing that role unless the latter is injured or needs a rest.

Calm down, little pony. I understand every time you read a post with Pulisic's name in it you feel the need to spew your vitriol toward the lad. But how about singing the praises of a manager who better understands the necessity of using players in the position they will play best? Tuchel would have had CP on for Reese James or Chilwell. Lol. But keep hating. CP going to prove you wrong now that he has a manager that understands where to play him.

I wouldn't need to "keep hating" if you didn't need to shove him doing the basics after months of sh*t down our throats.

I travelled with an Italian in August and if he tried to pass of Emerson as some sort of great player I'd be putting him straight aswell 👍

I see the Pulisic issue slightly differently from some.

Only slightly though.  Do I think he is good enough to play at the level Chelsea need him to? No I don't. I don't think he will ever be consistently good enough for a club with regular ambition for major trophies.

Do I think he deserves vitriol? No. Other than his slightly stupid recent book release I don't think he has a poor attitude. Ziyech for example is far more deserving of contempt than Pulisic. I never doubt Pulisic's commitment, effort or desire and that's the least you expect from a highly paid footballer. When you can't even offer that then you deserve the wrath of the ticket paying fans. Ziyech joins the likes of Bogarde and Lukaku in that regard.

But see, you aren't putting me straight,  Einstein, as my post acknowledged the coaching acumen of Potter. You took it as an opportunity to again sh*t on Pulisic. You can clap yourself on the back for your self-aggrandizement but, in reality, you are just a Chelsea fan disparaging a Chelsea player. Rather sad.

Yep, and I've spent a lot of hard earned money being treated to his multiple anonymous sh*tshows.

So until he either refunds me or sorts his sh*t out I have every right to critise him...

Ok, well, you keep right on "critise" him. If I were you, I probably would have invested that money into a basic English course. But, heck, wth do I know, right?

Not much given you come on a fans forum to bang on about how great a (so far) average player is then try questioning the fandom of said people when they say otherwise.

Not exactly sure what you expected if I'm honest, go on a Newcastle or West Brom fan and try and shoehorn how great Steve Bruce is on every thread and see how far it gets you 👍

What is even more astonishing is the pure hatred and angst some of you Chelsea "fans" feel for your own players, and have no problem constantly bashing them no matter how they perform. It is rather pathetic, and speaks volumes about your true fan spirit and character that you eat your own.

So in other words, exactly the same as what you do/have done to the likes of Havertz, Mount, Ziyech and Tuchel.

Nothing like exposing blatant hypocrisy.

Somehow, I don't think my passion, my Fandom, runs as deep as most of you true Chelsea fans. Lol. Although, excited to say, I am planning my first trip to London tonight and I look to be there for New Years Eve and the Nottingham clash. Super excited!! Cheers.

I agree with USA Tim on this and also with Argo, probably. Pulisic was played in his natural position, one he's been played in lots of times before mind you, and did ok at least in terms of the goal. He is a useful squad player. Chelsea has a big squad of talented players. Stirling is clearly a long way in front at this point but also older.

I'd like to think Pulisic can improve his stats and he obviously needs to because based on his track record he ain't going to be first choice in a team competing for trophies.

Regarding Tuchel and Potter. Tuchel was brought in and fixed the defensive problems that were so obvious under Lampard and put lots of organisation, perhaps too much, into the team. The goals did dry up as time went on although there were plenty in the first season. As much as the injuries to Chilwell and James it looks like Lukaku never really wanted to be here and is in fact injured himself.

Potter's team is scoring goals and its fun to watch. That's fantastic. Potter has the benefit of Stirling and Auba and Gallagher and so more goals should result.

Potter is in his honeymoon period, good results, team trying hard, fans wanting to believe. His true test will be later when just as with every manager things start going wrong, key players get injured. That's when you find out about your manager. All we can say right now is he is off to a good start and I for one am really looking forward to watching Chelsea right now.

Like nearly every fan I know its the new young players, the thrill of the new, that are most exciting and seeing the team play with style and verve and ability. Right now the prospects of that, at leas for a while, are good.
