Saw this doing the rounds today.  Pain.

I'd expect tottenham to win their next 7 against us while Conte is there and Potter is here.

You're never going to back a Potter team against a Conte side.

Presumably the bit we can't see out of shot on the right of the photo says "except for the 2-2 at Stamford Bridge in August" ... LOL

(with apologies for being faceious 🙂 )

Just chuck a blank cheque at Zidane now please Todd! This is getting far too embarrassing, even for Graham now, he looks completely defeated! It almost needs doing for his own sake!

Zidane will never manage in the PL. His managerial moves are well thought out to give him the highest possible chance of success.

Yep, my patience has worn thin now. I had voted for him to remain and still wanted him to remain in charge to gain some sustainability, however after today, this is just the final nail in the coffin. Same old. Nice passages of play an link ups but no clear created chances. Aubameyang is not necessarily going to be a miracle to our prayers, but I struggle to see why he has been so ostracized from the team when our attackers have done dog sh*t. In the past few weeks, he only changed up the forward line once against Southampton and then took Fofana off at H/T despite him offering a lot more than other players that game. Decisions don't make sense. We have not looked this dysfunctional for a long, long while. I have actually forgotten what it is like to win. But no excuse for another poor showing. Two sloppy goals too. I don't see how he survives this now and I don't see what excuse can be made for Potter now. Same old crap.

Potter’s ineptness doesn’t absolve Tuchel for the poor performances he displayed at the end of his tenure.

Do you think losing 3-0 to Leeds, or 2-1 to Southampton, or losing to Zagreb where in the post match presser he admitted he had no answers to arresting the slump was acceptable?

Things did go bad this season under Tuchel, but I think the guy had burned out, which is no surprise after what he had been through both with CFC and his personal life.

I understand he went to a camp in India to re-charge his batteries and is probably now champing at the bit to get the right appointment and go again. No better man out there to get us out of the complete mess we are currently in.

Who on earth are you even talking about? There's no Chelsea fans left who back Potter.

Potter being sh*t doesn't make the criticisms of Tuchel redundant.

Just go back on this thread before we lost to Spurs and you'll see many people defending Potter and saying we should give him time. It'll be the exact same on here in a couple of days if he doesn't already get the sack by today or tomorrow.

There are more than enough fans that still blindly support him for obvious reasons, while being the same supporters who did nothing but sh*t-talk one of the best managers we've had here all because he had a different passport and replaced a club legend.

It wasnt acceptable, but Tuchel had done more than enough to be given time to turn it around.

They have written the season off for Potter, Tuchel got sacked at the 1st hurdle.

It's crazy the amount excuses being made for Potter, when you actually think about what Tuchel went through in 18 months here.

Difference is one manager win CL, Club world cup, 2 domestic finals, and 2 top 4 finishes, while the other is statistically the worse Chelsea manager ever.

Which one are the board fighting to keep faith with?

Tuchel was great throughout all of 2021. We were getting results and winning frequently. His first 50 games or so was outstanding. No disputing that.

Just my opinion, but I think what he produced through 2022 was average and we were deteriorating with no signs of recovery despite the 2 cup final finishes. I remember saying at the time of his sacking I would have given him until the World Cup and then assessed his position then but it wasn’t to be.

I think once Roman was selling up, his days were always going to be numbered. I think it would have happened to any other manager to be honest as they wanted their own appointments to be in place ASAP. Roman was the same with Ranieri 20 years earlier.

On Potter, I can’t find anyone defending him here. Most if not all have had enough and reached the same conclusion as his earliest critics.

Now that's a game we should have won, probably our best performance of the season imo.

I believe the graphic came from Tuchels Pre match interview that day.

Certainly more pleasant reading than any stat under Potter prior to today's game.

I'm not sure the poor interns at Sky would be able to find any stats to big us up at the moment.  That said if there were any I'm surely Boehly would have brought them to everyones attention now.

Compare the performance against Tottenham in August, during Tuchel's 'average' period, to the performance we had today. Tuchel had a worse squad to work with as well. Even the worst version of Tuchel is 100x the tactician Potter is

Well I went for a 30 minute run and hoped he'd be gone by the time I got back. Maybe if i go again..?

You could probably spend months becoming an elite marathon runner, by the time you come back you'll just see 'Boehly trusts Potter to get Chelsea promoted back to the Premier League'

The performance against Spurs early in the season was the standout performance in the latter stages of his tenure. I had hoped it would be a turning point, but we continued to regress after that.

Anyway, I’m done with the Tuchel vs Potter comparisons. I see them as two mutually exclusive topics, so I’d rather worry about Potter’s immediate future and what comes next.

If I worried about the past, I’d still be obsessing about how Roman made the mistake to get rid of Mourinho in 2007. That was the sacking I never got over.

Sadly I think you could emulate Forrest Gump's US coast to coast endeavours ... and Potter would still be here ...

Still, "Run, Zeta, Run ! " 🙂

Can't wait for Dortmund to annihilate us at Stamford Bridge so this cluless prick can be sacked and sent back to Brighton or Bournemouth or wherever the f**k he came from.

And Boehly should be ashamed. His 1st managerial hire is the biggest joke in Chelsea history all this after sacking one of the BEST managers in Chelsea's history to get this guy.

Probably a crazy notion, but I'd love Tommy to return.

Must be one of those new 'pronouns' that old farts like me don't know of !

Yes, loads of fannying around, nobody knows where the goal is

Man United looks like a top 3 team rn just cause they signed Casemiro.

Potter got much more than Casemiro to work with and we look clueless, make no mistake it's all on him.

You’ll have to go on a Forrest Gump run before they fire Potter

Good post apart from this bit, which on the face of it is rubbish. You think that the fans that wanted Tuchel to go was because he wasn't English.  What rubbish. Three of the best managers we have ever had are Tuchel, Mourinho and Ancelotti. In fact in the "modern" era I can only think of Lampard and Hoddle who were English other than interims like Eddie Newton, Graham Rix and Ray Wilkins. All of our great managers and in fact notmso great have come from abroad. We have a rich modern history of it.

I genuinely cannot recall a single post from anybody calling for TT to be sacked because he was German. What do you mean?
