Personal attacks, how classy. Never done this before on here but unless I get an apology or the post is deleted before the end of this current match I will be reporting this post.

He could have just said No :morning:

“The view among a few players is that Graham Potter is taking an easy decision by picking certain teammates who kick off more, which perhaps explains how Hakim Ziyech was straight back into the side after trying to go to PSG.

The quieter Mason Mount is seen as easier to leave out, and the English midfielder’s popularity in the group means his demotion has aggravated other figures.”

Like him or hate him (or be indifferent) but its really good to see him celebrate after the kind of pressure he’s been under. Well done tonight, good game management as well which is good to see

I felt that too. He's still got a lot more to do to win me back round but was great to see how happy he was at the end.

Crucial thing is now to keep this up in the league, Leicester and Everton is a huge chance to build on this momentum now and restore a respectable league finish.

Good stuff that. Big win.

Tonight I will say that we looked a bit like we did in our first CL-run under Tuchel and thats to Potters credit. I also think we are a better side with a back three. That obviously brings several of the January signings into question so who knows if there may be a disconnect between Potter and Vivell & Co or not.

If we stick with a back three the Tuchel signings of Koulibaly, Fofana, Cucu and Sterling won't be so idiotic as some fools have claimed afterall. All great today.

Agreed. At least in Europe Cucu looks good as a LCB. I also think there is a lot of potential in the Sterling-Havertz-Felix front line.

He’s done well still has a lot to do for me to say he’s the man but games like these are the right steps

I don't think I'll ever see him as the man.

He's done well tonight. But Lampard did better in more games and I still wanted him replaced.

I have nothing against either men except I don't believe that the quality of the league we play in, allows managers without sufficient character building in competing at the top level year in year out for a minimum of  3 to 5 seasons to succeed.

I've been harsh against my own standards and expectations of the team but I guess if some other people or TB feel that stability is more important than being competitive, then I can't do much but only hope for the best every time we play knowing I probably will not enjoy the game.

If I was GP, I'd settle for this formation and squad and make changes as required due to injury or form drop off. It's been one of his biggest criticisms, the chopping and changing that is, and sometimes you can fluke into a squad that works.

Much better performance tonight and all things considered the best of his tenure. This win will likely buy him till the end of the season. Hoping he sticks with the back 5 , a fully fit Kante and silva could make a very big difference in the next round.

Exactly my thoughts do not make unnecessary changes most of these players are young very young they can play multiple games per week easily.

After nearly 30 games it turns out the only way Potter can get us looking like a half decent side is to play exactly the same way Tuchel had us playing.

But he did it tonight, our best performance tonight, the best we've seen since Graham came in and finally something to build on but it has to be something we do consistently not just a 1 off.

It's exactly what Tuchel did. Tuchel came to Chelsea with a similar reputation for 'tinker tactics' but suppressed his usual tendencies by settling on a formation and lineup very early on, though in fairness he did have a squad that practically picked itself.

I agree that managers need to impose a character on the team. Chopping and changing does nothing except to signify uncertainty and reactivity.

So many fans were complaining about the 3-4-3 last season but look how much better we are. With the wing backs pushing forward it's still an offensive formation, that keeps us solid at the back as well.

It’s very well tuned for Europe.

Issue is the league.
