Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"

Featured Replies

Ugh, I was hoping this saga was over this morning. But no. We must continue to see this guy's name every moment of every day.

f**king hell, he's had 1 good PL season. Do you know how many players had 1 good season and then were never heard of again? There's absolutely no guarantee he will live up to expectations, and for that sort of money, it is a massive gamble.

Yes, I actually do.

We used to have a good relationship with them and we let them have both Lamptey and Gilmour for peanuts. But I think us taking Potter and the backroom staff upset that although they are laughing as they now have a much better coach. But that new coach, as good as he is, and I do admire him, got a bee in his bonnet when he started talking up Colwill staying with them and when that didn't happen, I would imagime Chelsea was the last club he wanted one of his star player to end up. They would have sold to anyone rather than us. Yes, IF we had offered silly money as Liverpool have done, they might have had no option. Might not be a rivalry as that has to work both ways and I and most CFC supporters couldn't give a toss about a small (albeit well run) club like Brighton,  but they (and their fans) really hate us.

I live on the south coast now , and I can tell you Brighton don't hate us, but they are amused by our endless interest in their " little" club, because after all , it's us who are constantly attracted to them and not the other way round

And Tuchel to the first club that sacks its manager, even if it's Accrington Stanley.

Maurice Steijn then to Brighton and Tuchel to...................

I think your suffering from paranoia! However, Brighton fans are laughing at Chelsea which is worse than bring hated, so perhaps you're right!

Caceido may still end up at Chelsea rather than liverpool. From Brighton’s perspective this will be decided by who pays the required fee not because one club is liked more than the other

Nah, Liverpool and Brighton are driving the bid up , walk away .

Looks like we are going to at least match Liverpool's bid and see what happens. Caicedo agreed personal terms with us in May and wants to move to Chelsea. But at this point no guarantee Brighton will accept an improved offer from us either. What a mess.

seems Adams may go on loan to BHA as part of the deal

Can't send a player on loan to a PL club the same summer you sign him.

I don't think Brighton want Adams actually. Not very good and probably better paid than most current Brighton players.

Everyone can go read my previous comments in the thread I do not want us to pay £112 million for this guy but the fact he’s now set on signing for us and rejected Liverpool kinda makes this a little more bearable 🤣🤣🤣

Still don’t think worth no where near that much but he’s rejected Liverpool and the media bias against us just makes this sweeter

So for those waking up not knowing what the f**k happened. Here's the time line.

- We bid £90+10

- Liverpool come in out of the blue with a total package of £110m.

- Brighton accepts Liverpool's bid just before midnight.

- Caicedo and his agency are informed by Brighton he must go to Liverpool.

- Chelsea reach out to Caicedo and his agency to wait as they work to match/outbid Liverpool.

- Caicedo tells both Brighton and Liverpool he only wants Chelsea.

yes the money is crazy, the fact that it's pool makes it sweeter . I hope we also get Lavia just to  piss them off

We are walking into a trap, overpaying far too much in the belief that we are getting one over Liverpool .

Who do we think we are buying, ? It's f**king stupid to fall in love with a guy with only 1 good season behind him .

Walk Away I Say

You do realize Liverpool want to break their record transfer over him don't you? Instead of spending 50m on Lavia?

Allison, Fabinho, VVD. Three players Liverpool previously broke transfer records for. Look how they turned out.

Please Chelsea just walk away. Leave him to liverscum. Probably half this money was a fair fee for someone with limited ability with one good EPL season under his belt and not a game changer.

Really hope all this sh*t about rejecting them is false and he’s landing in Speke airport about now.

Doesn't this kind of seal it though. If Brighton turn down the offer what are the going to do with the player if de Zerbi has already forgotten him. That's how much he is valued by his manager. Surely we help get them out of the hole they have got themselves into by standing firmand honouring our more than fair offer. I mean with no other takers we could try to low ball them but i think we should honour the generous offer we have made.

If they really wanted him they wouldn't have waited until now , it's a ploy I'm telling you, a conspiracy between two clubs who hate us, it's an unholy alliance etc

" Walk away, with hope in our hearts,

Don't get scammed by the reds and the upstarts"  ...to be continued

Timeline based on reliable sources ?

If Caicedo doesn't want to go to Liverpool then the value of Liverpool's bid is completely irrelevant. Same as Saudi bid for Lukaku really ... best bid but Lukaku refused the move, so we either have to keep him or sell to whoever else is bidding at whatever they are prepared to pay.

We should stick at whatever we have bid, and Bloom then has the option to accept that, or keep the player. or find another club that will bid more that Caicedo will also accept.

Must of killed both De Zerbi and Bloom when Caicedo said he only wanted Chelsea. They so desperately wanted to pull the rug from under us with Liverpool involved.

It hurt them so much that they probably got an extra 15-20 million out of us compared to last week. Which in itself pays for their replacement more than likely. What's this narrative that Brighton wanted to do this?

Indeed.

He has now rejected Liverpool.  So do Liverpool no longer want him?
Or will they still want him after he has rejected them?
Will they now pull out of their deal?
IF they walk away, it is just us and Brighton again.

Brighton no longer want him.  He doesn't train or have anything to do with the current Brighton team.

So, we . . . we could in theory just walk away too and put in another [much lower] offer for him in January?
