It happened with Torres, it happened with Werner and even Auba could've been played in a couple of times in the last league game. Eventually they stop making the runs, lose confidence, and then we blame the striker.

Costa is seen as the one exception to 'we've had sh*t strikers since Drogba' but it's not a coincidence that he had Fabregas and Hazard to feed him the ball.

I think in the end you've got to adapt as a player though. We have always been better served by strikers who could play with the ball at their feet and back to goal.

Let's see what the kid can do. Maybe he can do both once he is more used to the style of play.

I agree that player need to adapt, slight change is normal but It is very difficult to for a player to completely change their game. We have seen this story again and again with many player with many club.

Most of the time both the team and the player will  have adapt to each other. You can see it clearly at city with Haaland to some degree Rodri.

Agreed but that may be because we've largely been shorn of midfield creativity. Costa wasn't great with his back to goal either but he scrapped for the ball. We shouldn't be buying strikers like Torres, Lukaku, Werner etc and then ask them to change what makes them successful.

I like the look of the kid though, looks to have a good mix of physicality and technical ability.

I would bet half my house on Haaland failing here had we signed him. Not great with his back to goal, doesn't have the best touch, and all his great runs would have come to nothing. Our supply lines are simply shocking.

Agree, in general Haaland will be 200m down the drain.

However, it really depend on what version of Chelsea that is playing.

I don't know what Potter is doing so I can't say much. But in last year version, we would have made Haaland looks stupid.

This crossed my mind looking at striker options, we can sign any world class striker but they would fail here immediately due to how lacking we are in creativity.

Strikers can run in behind and do all the things that gifted players do but if you don't pass them the ball and pass it sideways and backwards to the keeper ,

why would they keep going ?

The best ones just make sh*t happen on there own a lot of the time.

I think he should have squared it to Havertz when he took it round the keeper but apart from that he offered so much more than Havertz did m, should start against West Ham

He is a bit of a selfish player judging by his YouTube comp but I agree, we need his mobility and eagerness to find the net.

Not only did he take it round the keeper, he did the covering defender too. I like that he wanted to finish what he himself had created. Shows a striker's instinct.

He also looked strong. Not something you can say about Havertz or Aubameyang.

Why Havertz would just have ballooned it like he did the chance mount made for him. If it is not on his head Kai is a poor finisher.

Finish was not great but the build up before was beautiful.

We would have had a better chance is the post shot or ballooned effort from Kai in first half had fallen to DDF.

Been reading reports we are desperate to loan him out for the rest of the season. Solely based on what he did in 20 minutes last night, I really hope we don't.

Can we even loan him out? We cannot sell or loan Auba because he has played for Barca and us this season.

DDF has played for both Molde and us this season so I would assume therefore he cannot play anywhere else either.

Taking him off at HT was one of the weirdest subs I can remember in recent Chelsea history. It's like he is actually trying to stop us from scoring. Maybe he wants to get himself sacked on purpose so he can enjoy the money and relax.
