With all the stress from the transfer and him just landing in the country 48 hours before kickoff, it will be a risk starting him especially with our luck with injuries. I know he is match fit but let's give him a week to settle in. I doubt he even speaks any english

February 1, 20233 yr The spirit of FFP is "don't let the biggest 1% of clubs do whatever they want in the market". The rules are not complicated and clubs like us, City, RB clubs and Real have the means to go against the spirit by finding ways to channel money through to different companies and so on. We just went around it with giving our new players 8,5 year deals. We didn't break any rules but it was against the idea of the FFP so we will see this being the last time to do those long deals so we can amortize massive amounts of money to number of years. One clear thing that has come from us Juggernauts throwing money around is the rise of moneyball sides that have a business model of buying smart and selling to us with massive profit. Dortmund, Benfica, Ajax and so on. The FFP rule is simple because the idea was to basically say "come on let's play nice, we all agree the amount of money is getting silly. Come on guys..." Clubs like us just nodded in silence and did whatever we are doing.

Also ensures no other club can follow us and do the same which obviously makes it even better. Top work from the club. I also don't want to hear any excuses for Potter now. I hope he gets us going but with the squad he's now got we better look like one of the very best sides in the league. And we should challenge for the title next season already. Yes indeed Sindre. But then a lot of people were saying the same after Tuchel got Lukaku for 115 million euros and he was fortunate enough to be able to pair him with the reigning UEFA Player of the Year to run the show for him. Lots of people thought it would be cakes and ice creams all round, but it wasn't was it? Football has a habit of doing that.

I could care less when they allow clubs who make comparatively less broadcast revenue and matchday revenue to declare greater commercial revenue as legitimate. Speaking of moneyball, we seemed to have 2 very different transfer strategies this window and the cheaper/younger signings are exactly the kind of transfers Dortmund etc make. Very cleverly done, these are perfect hedge transfers that will cover any losses made on the big transfers if a player flops. Santos is probably already worth double what we paid.

Is not like bringing in Cesc who knew the league inside and out. My friend, this here is the internet. Level-headedness is not welcome.
February 1, 20233 yr Waking up to see we've sold Jorginho to Arsenal and signed Enzo Fernandez is a wet dream come true
February 1, 20233 yr We are limited to 3 of our new signings going in to the CL squad. Seems obvious to me that Enzo and Mudryk will be 2 of them. Who is the third going to be? Felix? Badiashile? Madueke?

That video of the sky sports journo is funny, he didn't read the part of the rule that says the players has to have been at the club for at least 18 months.
