Defensively over the last few seasons we have been sh*te, we just don't look compact and solid anymore .I reckon its all this playing out of the back nonsense where we've bought technically better defenders on the ball, but they can't defend worth sh*t when we haven't got it.  What happened to the good old defenders that could boot the ball into row ZZZ when required instead of pissing around with the ball in and around our own box.

Quite a good first half - they look up for it - and they're running around a bit too - even jourginio is passing forward.

Looking forward to the normal inspirational half time take it normal makes such a difference

Not played too badly, hall should have scored and Guaita turning into prime Gianluigi Buffon to deny Thiago Silva. Kepa has made a couple of good saves too. Only downside of this has been Havertz being crap still, take him off for Fofana at half time.

He's 18 and to be fair at least he is being attack minded and getting into the right places, maybe Chillwell might have buried one of the chances, and certainly the chance he had against Fulham but he is certainly technically and tactically better than CC...works for me.

At least if he impresses and Real Madrid move in we can get good money for him on that sort of contract.

I'm fully 100% behind Potter leaving him out. Hasn't looked like he could give rat's arse when he has played. Old, slow and way, way, way past his sell buy date.

These are typical in NA, baseball, NHL, NBA, most players are on long term contracts but they tend to get traded rather than bought and sold, something foreign to us in Europe these days unlike days gone by. 

I like the look of Hall. Only turned 18 in Sept and already looks good. Hall, Colwill, James, all youth products.

The Silva shot wouldn't have counted as Havertz was offside and interfering. Great strike and save, though.

What happened with Giroud exactly? Did he want to leave? Would take him right about now. The illogical decision to not renew his contract made no sense just because he was over a certain age. Surprised he wasn't given more respect here and just let go of so easily.
