Another Winger! - Noni Madueke

That's pretty much how he was playing for England U21s until the manager decided to use him as a super sub. Doing more with his possession than last year.

Why does that sound more like a United story...

Noni appears to be a player that needs tough love when underperforming. These were his comments on Poch 2 weeks ago.

‘He’s tough with me, but I probably need that,’ acknowledged Noni.

‘He’s transparent as well which is really important, to know where you stand and what he expects from you. He knows when to be really tough with me and when to put an arm around me. I can’t fault him

Even with all the injuries, we can't play all of these promising young players. I dont think past history has anything to do with it. Poch doesn't have all day to babysit everyone, if a player fails to put the best effort it, drop him, there's not even a need for explanation.

Noni doesn't seem like the type to not put effort in training.

He's a good player with great dribbling skills, but needs to improve everywhere else especially decision making in the final third.

Non-story.

Surely must be something going on here as you simply don't pick development players like Josh Brooking and Alex Matos ahead of Madueke for the match day squad if Madueke is fit and available.

This feels a bit like a disciplinary thing..happens a lot.

Apparently partying while injured is not the best way to earn a squad spot.

Good player though, sure he’ll bounce back.

Clearly disciplinary thing.

He's still young but he also needs to understand the situation the club is going on right now and the way he needs to show himself.

I'm with Poch about this movement, but I also don't want to lose him as a player, he can bring something to this team.

As Chelsea fans we should know this better than anyone, when a new manager comes in there's always at least one player that gets this treatment. It doesn't even necessarily have to be about beef either, it can they don't fit the system, the manager just doesn't rate them as highly.

There are some factors of course, Sterling started well and is our most experienced player so Poch is keen on playing him. I hope to see more of Noni though, he's a talented player, and Sterling is already falling off anyway as he typically does.

Does anyone think that he should be starting over Sterling?

I am sure someone else mentioned it around the forum once or twice.

Madueke, Maatsen, Palmer, Carney, Washington, an injured Reece, Gusto, Cucurella, @Munkunku, @cocoor even yourself @Modueke.

The short version of people I would prefer starting for us over Sterling.

Not sure why someone has not brought this up about Madueke ahead of Sterling though. He is an exciting player. Is odd but there you go.

Setting standards and rules is fine by me.. important for club culture.. not going question every decision the gaffer makes.
