October 6, 20241 yr Despite only being a sub, I thought he showed more attacking threat than Sancho, Neto and Felix! A bit of urgency and can float in a great pass!

He did but I think being brought on in the 90th minute made him look better/much faster than those who were finishing the game...
October 7, 20241 yr He would have looked lost in that first half. He played well when came on, but we need to remember that he played against a tired 10 men team that was still countering us.
October 7, 20241 yr Good player to bring on against tired legs, should be how he's used going forward outside of the conference league.
October 7, 20241 yr Time to put together a highlight reel showing his appearance yesterday and his first 10 minutes against Liverpool, and send it to Tottenham. Try get Fat Ange to buy him before he gets sacked. Tottenham fans are not happy bunnies at the moment a little bit of Mudryk might cheer them up.
October 7, 20241 yr Should start him at Anfield, maybe we see that same Mudryk from his debut for us.

October 25, 20241 yr Was nice to see him having a go at someone. Think it might have been KDH having a pop at him for a decision and Mudryk gave a bit back to him. Think he needs a bit of bite to bring more out of his game.
October 25, 20241 yr I'm not getting too excited about a breakthrough but the midweek games against lesser opponents seems to be a way forward for Mudryk. If he continues his improvement he may be able to lever Sancho out of the team. I still think his problem is between the ears. His poor decision making is almost visible in his play. He cant decide what to do or where to go quickly enough for his own pace. He needs to get to a mindset where these things become instinctive. He may be able to play himself into some form. Even if he stays in the "second team" at least he is in the shop window on a european stage.
October 25, 20241 yr Always more potent when he uses his speed and footwork to go on the outside instead of lamely going sideways and backwards. Maybe a confidence thing.
October 25, 20241 yr Played well last night but needs to start making an impact in the EPL before I start getting my hopes up.
October 25, 20241 yr Really good performance. Build on this. He’ll likely start against Newcastle in the cup, and may have done enough to be on the bench for Sunday. Squad competition - love it.
October 25, 20241 yr Mudryk MUST stay or I feel it will be another Salah/KDB scenario! Alright, maybe not, but I am not willing to gamble that!

I'd even go as far to say that if people, including punditry, let up on all this blistering pace to get in behind stuff and concentrate on what he has been doing as a conventional wide player, they would see that his contribution recently has been pretty solid with goals and g/a. Sitting on the shoulder and then breaking away at full tilt whilst trying to cut inside and unleash a unstoppable strike is high risk at the best of times, but when you are low in confidence and the world's mockery is held with baited breath, then is it any wonder that his stock remains low. But if you view his performances recently through a slightly different lens and see what his contribution has been in winning back possession, linking up play, offering width, getting in behind, but also crossing better, getting a few assists and popping up with a goal, then he stands side by side with pretty much anyone else we have in these wide positions. EDIT - I will add to this by saying that i think some of the comments from Maresca about Mudryk recently are actually quite disrespectful. Maybe its me but it is almost as if Maresca openly talks about the lad as if he is either a) a child or b) feeble minded. Edited October 25, 20241 yr by WhiteWall

Maybe it’s me but it is almost as if Maresca openly talks about the lad as if he is either a) a child or b) feeble minded. Tough love. He either steps up or steps out. His pace is his best attribute and he must learn to use it properly. I actually disagree that he shouldn’t play on the shoulder of the right back. It’s exactly where he should be. When he comes deeper he often has to beat at least 2 players to get where he needs to be. If he’s on the shoulder it’s a simple knock past the last defender and no one is catching him. Neto is still ahead of him imo and Sancho ahead of him also when against a low block. At least one of Sancho, Mudryk or Neto will be sold next summer and it’s probably Mudryk in pole position although Sancho would be the easiest to get a profit from when he’s “only” going to cost £25 million
October 25, 20241 yr I thought he was really good defensively at times yesterday. His speed is insane, saw it against that kid yesterday that was supposed to be one of their fastest in their league. Got past him and kicked the ball out for a throw in, instead of a corner. It's the mushy bit inbetween the ears that needs work and I think Maresca is on it. The way they celebrated together makes me feel they've been working on him separately from the grp maybe, or extra help after training, something along those lines.
