That was interesting, ref overturning his own red.

it wasn’t a red but really he will have to put his hands up because he really should have checked before giving a Red if he wasn’t sure

still a brave decision, Tottenham understandably annoyed, we would be

We desperately need a striker. We haven't had a striker for so long to the extent that players have given up making long balls into the box.

It's not just needing a striker. When we are on top, we should be forcing things more. Look how much of the ball we had in that half and only Chilwell and Sterling were running at players and trying to force things to happen. We play far too slow, we allow teams to keep their shape. We are so easy to defend against. No other team makes it this easy for the opposition. We are basically hoping the nobody makes a mistake at the back, because we aren't going to do anything as an attacking team playing like this.

This commentator are clueless, they are trying to stir nonsense. When the ref does the correct thing you should praise them instead stirring this nonsense.

The ref was being advised by his assistant to give red but var interfere because that wasn't a red. It was simple.

For me it depends on the camera angle, from one angle it looked like a slap, from the other it was a shove to the shoulder that then caught his face afterwards.

Yeah could be, initially I thought it was the latter, then after the VAR replay I was convinced of the former. Ah well.

Not a great performance to be honest, I don't think the formation is working. It's neutering James, isolating Sterling, and making us very open in the middle of the park (on top of that it has no natural position for Mount, arguably our best player). If Félix (the only player it really seems to benefit) doesn't create anything then we will continue to struggle. Like Loz said above, the VAR hi-jinks at the end of the half may at the very least give Potter the excuse to hook Ziyech, who has offered nothing at all in the blended wing-back role. Hook him for Badiashile, get James and Chilwell further forward, move Sterling inside and we should start to look better.

How wasn’t Harry Kane booked for the shove on Kepa? Richarlison clinical foul on James?

Yeah and why wasn't Emerson booked for running up and banging into Ziyech ???

It was the other way around. The assistant on the sideline is the one that advised the referee to have another look. Whoever was in the VAR room was the one that advised the red card.

The most surprising part about that farce of a Red card was that the assistant was the one that got the right call not whoever was in the VAR room. WTF is VAR for if it keeps making these mistakes?

They're probably pissed drunk in there. It's one of the easiest jobs in the world with almost zero accountability

Yah - by the time we get to put it in the box the opposition have got 12 players in there

Wait?

How can sideline assistant advised ref to too look at var screen?

1 goal in 6 matches at the moment.

That's not even as bad as us having scored only 6 goals since October and yet Havertz continues to start. I want Potter to succeed but I don't understand why he keeps playing Havertz when we have strikers.

Officiating aside, that was absolute dull as f**k from us. Time wasting mid way through the first half, Jesus wept.

I’ve turned over to BBC2 and in about five I have had more entertainment and heard a better atmosphere from watching our women’s team. The quality isn’t there, but the endeavour and enthusiasm shames our men’s side. And I’m not sure the quality is that different looking at some of our players.

Couldn't believe it myself. Absolutely no idea how to penetrate this team at all, so all we seem to be doing is slowing the game to a snail's pace and just trying to keep possession in front of them.

Equally Sterling (think it was Sterling) should have been booked for the foul where Spurs got the advantage and hit the post

Richardson yes.  Kane, nah. Kepa royally acted that up.

Far too much 'oooooh the ref hates us' in this thread.

Mudryk on for Ziyech.

Aubameyang on for Havertz.

I laughed when I noticed Havertz popping up at left back at one point in that half ... no striker worth his salt will ever turn up there LOL.

I don't think Felix has been great, but Havertz on a yellow card is as much of an accident waiting to happen in the second half as Ziyech is ...

Red card rescinded!

This referee is all over the place, but for once we sort of profit from it.

There was some logic to it, if he gave a yellow couldn’t review it only a red can be reviewed on VAR

If that was even deemed violent conduct, that Spud should be stripped of his boots, and kicked all around that stadium, Spurs really are a pathetic , Niggly bunch of orrible c**ts…
