I don't think it will, I actually think it will have a worse impact on confidence than any of the defeats.

We've finally scored for the first time in a millennia, the bridge is rocking, tears of relief and joy are flowing as we're 1-0 up against a championship team with a terrible defence who are now chasing the game.

They bring on attacking subs to come out

And........

We take off almost all our attacking players and play old Burnley turtle football hanging on for a 1-0 against a championship team

I bet Mudryk, Sterling, Felix etc feel lower than ever.  Felix is only even here because he couldn't stand Simeone doing the exact same thing even when Atletico regularly win games.

I thought the whole point of this "project" was to implement a style with talented young attacking players

I'm glad you have come on to post despite your obvious disappointment. Your opening statement is an absolute pearler, it should go down as a Shed End Legendary post.

Everybody knows nothing dents confidence like a win. Brilliant!!! TimesUpBellEnd.

Three much needed points

Good in parts but very scrappy in final 20 mins

The subs suggest a manager who was desperate for a result

Back three were generally solid though KK makes for nervous viewing

Quality delivery and finish for the goal

We will need to be a lot better on Tuesday to progress

I actually think it inadvertently improves us going forward as it gives James and Chilwell more freedom and allows Fofana to utilitize his best attribute in possesion (dribbling) knowing there's cover behind him.

Even more so next season with Gusto in the mix as it gives us a chance to effectively play two rightbacks in the build up.

Really hope this formation is returning for the foreseeable and not just a one off panic due to recent results and no Silva.

It does make us more solid, we did have more shape until the subs. It does though leave a question mark around some of the signings.

The wingers are basically going to have to do what Trossard did at Brighton , namely learn how to play wing back !

For me with James and Chilwell fit I feel the total opposite.

Wide wingers would compliment those two more I feel.

Who are they aiming crosses at in the middle though, if we are essentially playing a 3-4-3 instead of 3-4-2-1 ?

The two poor sods playing box-to-box central midfield will be knackered inside half an hour if they expected to get into the box alongside our lone striker !

I can only see a big role for wingers in 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.

When we had that great run under TT James and Chilwell were getting in and around the box a lot.

And I'm not really a fan of crossing I feel it's a low reward game even if you have De Bruyne or Beckham, I'd rather see them cut inside take on their man and then try and combine with the other players.

A win. Hooray! We pretty much resorted to end to end chaos ball and our superior quality got us the win.

Some excellent displays today. Chilwell the stand-out.

Leeds are going down I think. Which is fantastic. They looked all over the shop.

Leeds were so close to an equaliser at the end. They missed 2 really good chances. Potter got the win which was crucial and sometimes you need that luck. But he’s going to have to be better thank today to really improve things.

Finally won a game, and should be enough to stay off relegation scraps, so could call it a season now 😅 Just like the last win at home against Palace, played some good football, created a few chances, and finally a set piece paid off.  Back 3 was good, think Potter had his crew probably been taking hints on this forum. Chiwell as the extra attacker on the win, just like the good old days 12-18 months ago. Took a few players off towards the end to prepare for the CL game, and fortunately no damage was done. The fans in attendence deserved this, no way going to be laughed off by oppositions fans fighting relegation battles, especially not leeds
