March 15, 20233 yr I'm surprised people seem eager for us to face Benfica. They topped a group with PSG and Juventus in it, they're running away with the league, and they've only lost one game in all competitions this season. The only teams I'd favour us to beat right now are the two Milan teams unfortunately.
March 16, 20233 yr Napoli, Citeh and Bayern are the teams I think we have least chance against, the other four i would be hopeful. On a good day, with Kante maybe recovering some form and even without him, I think we can be competitive against them all. Probably been smoking too many happy pills.

I am no mathematician but my guess is that there are 16 permutations. Initially there are 8 teams and the first 1 picked can be drawn against any of the other 7. After that there are 6 teams and the first one picked can play any of the other 5, after that there are 4 teams left and the first can play any of the other three. Then the last two pick themselves. So I get 7 + 5 + 3 + 1 = 16. Happy to be corrected.
March 16, 20233 yr otamendi will not play in the first leg with benfica could be a good thing to us but lets see what happen I really want avoid city...
March 16, 20233 yr I wouldn't want Benfica, because their fans will create a very hostile atmosphere since we bought Enzo from them, even though Enzo owed that club zilch. Sometimes things are written before they happen, if we draw Benfica they will knock us out and the headlines will all be about how Enzo left Benfica when they could win the champions league etc

March 16, 20233 yr Author If we draw either AC or Inter Milan I would rate our chances of getting through as 50/50 If we draw Benfica I would rate our chances as 40/60 against. If we draw Napoli I would rate out chances as 30/70 against. If we draw Real I woild rather our chances as 25/75 against. If we draw City I would rate our chances as 15/85 against. Lastly Bayern, if we get them I would rate our chances as 5/95 against.

Real are average and old.
March 16, 20233 yr Bayern & City, unfortunately we stand no chance against those two. Madrid & Napoli, 50/50. Benfica, Inter, Milan. We go through. Hopefully it is City v Bayern and Madrid v Napoli.
March 16, 20233 yr I want Real for revenge, City, or Bayern, not sure why people want the weaker teams. We usually do well in the champions league when the odds are up against us and we are the underdogs Edited March 16, 20233 yr by Frankie8Lampard
March 16, 20233 yr We are the Chelsea and we are the best, We are the Chelsea so F all the rest. Don't care who we get. We can beat anyone - and if we can't, then we don't deserve to be in the competition anyway.

That though doesn’t take into account the combinations of each team being drawn at home.
March 16, 20233 yr based on what im reading in this thread people are overrating Bayern. They have not been that impressive this year, especially in the bundesliga, but I do still think they are probably more likely than not to beat us but I definitely would rather play them at the moment than Napoli or City. Ideal draw for me would be Benfica and beating them would be glorious just to see Rui Costa get pissed off even more! Both the milan teams im sure we can take as well and out of the rest preferably madrid as they havent looked all that good this year either, but they are still scary when it comes to the CL. Knowing our luck and city's bribery though we'll get Napoli and City will get one of the milan teams!

Inter, Benfica and AC Milan would be clear underdogs when playing against us. City, Napoli and Real would be very hard to deal with I agree. Bayern is overrated and only slight favourite playing us. They haven't really been good for a while now. Haven't managed to get past the quarter finals for the last 3 years including an embarassing round of 16 loss to Villareal. Not convincing in the Bundesliga either considering the lack of competition.
March 16, 20233 yr Thank God Spurs got knocked out. Imagine getting them, and getting knocked out . I feel sick just imagining that scenario.

Was bad enough playing Arsenal in 2004 got to admit I was so pissed during the first leg I've no recollection of it at all without Googling I think Eidur scored for us Pires for them. The second leg was brilliant '' Follow follow follow there was only two minutes to go when Bridge scored that goal that sent us out of control and knocked Arsenal out of Euro'' great night 😎 Edited March 16, 20233 yr by bluehaze
March 16, 20233 yr Bayern aren't great by their standards this season (won 15 drawn 7 lost 2 in a weak Bundesliga). I'd rather not draw them, but I do think we could take them. We also showed we can go toe to toe with Madrid last season, so I think we have no need to fear that potential draw either. I think we can beat all three of the Italian sides over two legs, including Napoli, and Benfica, while they are indeed having a great season, should also be beatable over 2 legs. The one draw I don't want is City, as we have lost our last 5 games against them without scoring a goal (every game since the CL final basically)
