Think the most sensible move at this point would be to sack Frank and re-hire Potter. Potter was on the verge of getting a tune out of us. I can’t see anyone else having the insight into the squad to get results in the last four games.

Potter wasn't the right manager for the club, but he should have been left to finish off the season. He seemed to have at least settled on a favored lineup and we were creating quite a lot of chances. His last 5 games as manager were W3 D1 L1, and the points we got from that brief flourish in the league look crucial now. The only logical reason to get rid of him when they did was if they had the permanent replacement ready to start. I doubt he would have got us past Madrid, but I am sure we would have had some better results in the league.

There is a team in this squad that can compete for Top 4 next season with the right coaching environment and conditioning.

It was even doing it for the first 10 games of this season

I'd still fancy the job if I was Pochettino ...

mate, Newcastle are top four this season and look at those players before this season. Not a single person expected them to finish where they have, those players on paper are bang average. Nobody telling me this group of players (with a couple additions in summer) cannot compete for the title. Of course they can, but it's all about confidence, hard work, momentum and belief. Oh, and STABILITY!

Get a world class manager and we will be top 4. The players have bundles of talent and potential and with the right tactics and instructions we can be back to our best.

- firesale the crap players

- get new manager

- formulate a PLAN

- Make a balanced 11 and stick with it

                         Gk

RJ - Fofana - Thiago - Colwill - Chily

                Enzo - Kante

      Havertz - Nkunku - Mount

Or

RJ - Fofana - Thiago - Badia - Chily

                Enzo - DM - Kante

 Havertz/Sterling - NKunku/Lukaku

Or

RJ - Fofana/Kk - Colwill/Badia - Chily

            Enzo  - DM - Kante

Mudryk - Havertz/Nkunku - Mount

We need to keep 15-20 good players and sell the rest and get a cdm or striker ideally an experienced CB that is better than KK

Of course Pochettino is interested, whatever the results and the state of the team.

Think the whole idea that people are a lot more interested in a nice job place than earning £15-20m a year is a bit unrealistic.

Pochettino has done ok or slightly above ok in most of his jobs but also had the pleasure of coming to the right club at the right time several times.

In his final year(ish) with Spurs, they took 25 points from 24 games. With PSG he eventually won the league of course, but so would most people in here if they had access to Messi, Neymar and Mbappe.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, City, Arsenal and so forth aren't going to hire him. The best opportunity he has to get a well-paid job in a club with resources is either Chelsea or Spurs.
In both of those clubs, people would expect him to be the saviour. Whether he can live up to that... we'll see.

While it feels like a right mess and the doom from the media, I firmly believe that we’re not too far from having a good season. Get the right manager in and you’re never that far from having a good season. The talent is there in the squad, we’ve got good players. We just need the right man - come on Bohley, get Pochettino signed up.

5 stages of Grief. . .

We are at Acceptance.

Time for a group hug as we remember the better days.

  1. Denial. . .Potter just needs more time.

  2. Anger. . . I blame the groundskeeper.

  3. Bargaining. . . maybe we should have kept Tuchel?

  4. Depression. . . FFS Frank.

  5. Acceptance. . . next season, yes, next season. . .with Pochettino. Pochettino is going to be great.

(repeat the process)

Not sure what is going on behind the scenes and why this has not been completed, but the best option now for the owners and for the Club is to announce who is going to be the coach next season. If they are still working on the final details of the contract, release a statement so that the fans know what is going on at the Club and can have an idea of who they are looking to appoint.

Regarding the new coach, I never thought a good idea for Lampard to take over Potter at that point and have always thought that had Potter been left to oversee the rest of the season, we'd probably be already saved with a few more points (agree that he wasn't good enough to remain in place for next season, but we were starting to play some good football at times and there was some pattern of play unlike now). At this point, I think that it would be a good idea to get the new coach to start as soon as possible and oversee the team to the end of the season. There are 5 games left, we need to get at least a couple of points to be on the save side, and he can start to look at players to have a first hand feeling of who he wants to work with next season. And, let's be honest, Pochettino (if he's indeed the coach we are looking at as reported) won't do it worse than Frank in the remaining of the games.

If I'm being honest, I think a big reason they sacked him was due to a contract clause. As soon as we were 11th he got the sack, we were hugging 10th for months. Wouldn't surprise me if the board had a clause on lower half of the table position.

They sacked Potter as a sop to the fans who didn't want him in the first place and turned the place toxic as quickly as they could. Someone - I have no idea who - told the board that club legend Lampard would improve the atmosphere, neglecting to mention his less-than-stellar managing career. The blind led the blind led the blind.

Last night was a complete joke. No manager worth his salt would have us playing the way we are. Not good enough!

Lampard has made us much much worse than we were under Potter.

Sure the players are culpable too but I’m sure no one can see how he wants us to play. The players don’t either it would seem.

Anyone who thinks we can mount a challenge next season is living in cloud cuckoo land. A clear out is needed and it won’t be easy moving on so many.

For what it’s worth here is who I’d keep in the current first team squad. I’ve not included any of our loan players.

Kepa- Out. Not good enough. 20 mill

Mendy- see Kepa 10 mill

Bettinelli. Keep

Slonina-keep

Silva- I’d honestly let him go. Fantastic player but next season will be a step too far I think.

Reece- Keep

Dave- release

Koulibaly- sell 25 mill

Cucerella- sell if possible but he’ll be here next season

Chilwell- keep

Fofana- keep

Trev- sell 25 mill

Badilishiele- keep

Kante- release. Don’t think he’ll get back to the player he was.

Kova- sell. 35-40 mill

Pullisic- sell. 35 mill

RLC- sell. 25 mill

Mount- keep

Ziyech- sell 25 mill

Havertz- sell. 45 mill

Gallagher- sell 40 mill

Carney- keep and loan

Hall- keep

Mudryk- keep

Enzo- keep

Broja- keep

Sterling- sell 40 mill

Auba- sell 5 mill

D Fofana- keep and loan.

Felix- keep on another loan.

Noni- keep.

I doubt we will manage to get anything above the fees I’ve mentioned but even so it puts almost 300mill back into the club and gives the new manager space and money to make his own changes. I’m not daft enough to think it will happen this window. It’s more than likely going to take maybe 3 windows so the new manager must be given time.

Think the hold up is Pochettino now realizing he is the best candidate left standing. Far best in fact, so he is leveraging his position with his demands.

Or could be waiting for Spurs to call.

Well you have to be with us right now right?

He likes London, wants to stay in London, and by all extensive purposes he has a good relationship with both regimes.

Seems Paris was enough to get him to be away from London. Strange that Milan is not up there too.

In a fairytale word I'd bring Mou for the trilogy.

In a more realistic fairytale world I'd take Carlo. Good vibes

Seems like I'm getting Pochettino and going on a 3 year dry spell 😓

Lol look what we are reduced to, our fans pleading with a Spurs man to come save us. You gotta laugh.
