February 7, 20242 yr The way I see it is under Tuchel we still had a good experienced squad of players yet that changed and our current squad is young inconsistent and without much experience. Ok there are exceptions even to the above like Mount being young and now Silva being older yet exceptions. Young managers coming here looking for their first success with the club having won multiple trophies and the complete set recently must be hard as expectations are high. Then you look to find your main team and like @axman2526 said within a couple of matches most are injured. The fans are still expectant yet the manager knows he is having to manage with his hands tied and the FFP stops getting better players. I would say confidence is important and once we get a win we will get a couple more results and then go yoyo due to young players being inconsistent. On a more positive note Palmer has been great and also Petrovic has been good too. We have other players that are good at times like Gallagher, Sterling, Gusto and Chilwell yet again are not showing consistency. It is going to feel like a long season for me.
February 7, 20242 yr Btw when people are talking about transfers in Boehly era there are actually two different transfer "windows". The one where Todd and Bedad did it and the one with our new recruitment team did it.

Got the job, took training the same day and then led a Lampard team that was conceding two or three goals a game out against Wolves and stopped the rot immediately, then immediately changed us totally to ultimately win us the CL. He got his coaches together in the plane and got the tactics and formation and players he would use in each position whilst coming to the bridge.... Elite levels. Whereas Poch is still deciding our best 11 and might change to a back 5

Most people before Tuchel arrived were saying that the squad is too inexperienced and that Lampard needed time to develop them This was partially due to senior players like Rudiger and Jorginho being sidelined though under Lamps
February 7, 20242 yr I honestly didn't expect that type of performance, I thought Villa were going to cruise to victory tonight with the way we've been playing. Finally got a response from the team, the best we've played in a very long time I'll say. Would I be too hopeful to say this is a bounce-back? Or is it a one-off? I'll judge the next few games.
February 7, 20242 yr Massive response from Pochettino and the players. Needs to follow that up now. Hope Badiashille isnt injured, as that is the most competent we have looked defensively all season.
February 7, 20242 yr In many ways this has made me more annoyed at him. How can he be so capable of an elite set up like this and roll out the amateur level tactics and especially profiling we've seen so often? Please, please, please Poch use this as a blueprint going forward, we'd have a genuine chance at Wembley and possibly even The Ethiad with this set up.
February 7, 20242 yr That was a good response, although it only takes one lose to make fans calling for his sacking again. We need a bit of consistency and momentum, not saying we are going to win 5 in a row now, but can't follow up a solid game with a 2:4 in the next one.
February 7, 20242 yr Amazing what can happen when you move away from the snails pace football we've been playing, now go and make them do it in every game.
February 7, 20242 yr I put a bet on odds about 3.30 against us, wish I had put more yet there you have it.
February 7, 20242 yr Good mentality tonight, Poch got them playing for each other. The first time we’ve looked like a team in a long time. Adversity can sometimes bring out the best in both players and management.
February 7, 20242 yr As a professional when you get embarrassed like that twice if you don’t react then I would ship you out even if I paid £120 million for you. These players live on social media they saw what was being said about them and I know they would have reacted in their WhatsApp group. No way you can see what’s being said think yeah let’s continue like that, so it shows they have fight in them definitely and have professional dignity. Let’s see how they continue from here on in.
February 7, 20242 yr At least the players haven’t packed it in yet , which gives me a glimmer of hope he may be able to turn things around. Maybe the cups will save him. Bad result at the weekend though and he’s right back on the chopping block. Needs 2-3 months of this before I’d be somewhat convinced he’s going in the right direction with the team.
February 7, 20242 yr Well done Poch, I’m so pleased we finally got a good performance. Now please build on this and move forward. I really don’t want to go back to what we were. We need to start getting results in premier league. Come on Poch you can do it.

Can't discredit what Tuchel did as he made boys into winners, but you are dead right, he had established experienced players there like Kante, Giroud, Kovacic, Silva who've won big things, and then the likes of Jorginho and Rudiger who were experienced players. I don't believe the idea that a manager would come here and turn them into big boys overnight, it's just not realistic. The team needs time to settle and gain more experience together. What we saw tonight was something we've been needing for a long time, hopefully it's the start of something, fingers crossed!
February 7, 20242 yr Great performance all round, I just really hope Poch learns lessons from tonight, he played Enzo & Caicedo exactly how they should be played, dropped Silva & Sterling and just how he set us up. Just hope we see this Chelsea on a consistent basis
February 8, 20242 yr 14 hours ago, Scott Harris said: People get at Tuchel a lot for his signings, but a lot of his decisions came down to him basically just telling people to find him a certain type of player and sign them. He didn't go and watch these players himself and go "that's the guy I want, bring him in". Isn't one of the reasons why he didn't get along with the new owners because he never wanted to be as involved with all of that stuff? Which is odd if true because both Potter and Pochettino had no say on who we signed. We do things backwards. I feel like it's the owners that tell the scouts what to look for, not what the manager needs. The complete opposite to what the likes of Liverpool and City are doing. The scouts are signing players that fit the identity of the manager. This is one of the reasons why our signings were so hit and miss with Abramovich. We were so successful because we had an eye for top talent that could be moulded into a great team, but a lot of the players just didn't work out because they never fit the system the current manager was going for. We're doing that right now, but the vital difference is that we're not signing top talent, we're signing potential, and potential in football ends up with a lot more misses than hits. That is not my point. None of TT signing are project player. All of them are ready to play straight away. Tuchel will give Mudryk and Madueke two games and they will never touch the field again. What is the definition of long term build ? That's stupid buzzword used to trick majority of football fans by giving them long term hope while it's actually just an excuse to lower ambitions. Does long term build guarantee long term success ? No Does long term build = long term success? No Arsenal has long term build Did they get long term success? Liverpool does long term build Did they get long term success ? If you could win right now why tf you should wait for 5-10 years after ? What's the fckin point ? No guarantee you are still alive by then Only idiots get tricked by term "long term build" , unfortunately 90% of football fans are idiots build for short term , and then keep doing it every time then you receive success every season , do a short term build but repeat it every season that's how we used to work back then and what city , psg , bayern ,inter madrid is doing. February 8, 20242 yr Fair bit being made og Poches "Epic rant" abut this not being the Chelsea of 20 years ago and people need to "move on". Not sure what to make of that.
