February 25, 20242 yr Did he just tell them at the start of ET to sit in their own half and let the kids have the ball as much as they want? Constantly makes baffling decisions.
February 25, 20242 yr For people saying the squad's not good enough, and the manager isn't the issue Pochettino managed to bottle the French League at PSG whilst having Neymar and Mbappe up front. The manager isn't good enough.

February 25, 20242 yr On paper he has the least talented Chelsea squad in the last 40/50 years. Absolutely dross everywhere. But it's hard to see anything he's doing to suggest he's the answer either.
February 25, 20242 yr Quite simply, anybody not wanting Poch gone after that is just a braindead Poch fanboy.

February 25, 20242 yr I am absolutely fuming right now. I can't defend his game management here. Completely unacceptable subs. Why would you take off Sterling when he's one of the only players we have that can get you that single goal to win a game. I don't care if he doesn't touch the ball the whole 80 mins, he is still infinitely better than the other options in the box. If you want to bring Nkuku on, take off Enzo who was dreadful for most of the game apart from a good spell in the second half or you take off Jackson. Bringing Mudryk on, why? You have barely played him the past 4 or 5 games and you suddenly now think he is good enough to come on and make a difference? He is currently someone you bring on when we are already winning, not when you are chasing a goal. Noni for Connor is honestly the worse sub I have ever seen under Poch. Nothing about it makes any sense and all it did was force us to sit back and defend which is the compelte opposition of what we should have been doing. Madeuke himself was dreadful, killed virtually every attack we had. Chalobah for Chilwell, I would love to to how the logic behind this sub from Poch. I hope someone asks him cause I'm struggling. Chilwell is better at pens, if you want to defend a lead again Chilwell is better so by all logic it was a dreadful sub. Before anyone chimes in, yes the players missed plenty of chances. We should really have scored at least one goal but didn't. It happens, it's football. Pool missed chances too. What is not acceptable is how Poch threw away this chance of our only trophy with his management v the worse Liverpool team you are likely to see all season. Unbelievable.
February 25, 20242 yr Hard to see him coming back from this. Only the fa cup or winning like 10 games in the spin (isn’t going to happen) would make me think he should get another crack next year. it’s always one step forward and 2 steps back with him.
February 25, 20242 yr He should hang his head in shame. Lost out to an under 21s team, and not only that, had us playing utter sh*t. He lost us the game. We didnt turn up for extra time, the subs he made only made us worse, and he couldnt rally the team of adult pros to beat a team of mostly kids. Couldnt win a raffle if given the winning ticket. Spud bottle job. Shameful.

Villa and Brighton are above us in the league ffs. Why is that? Because they’ve got better culture and tactics. Poch isn’t, and never was, the man to lead us back to the peak.

Villa have a better squad than us so I'm not sure that's a good argument. 11th is roughly where I'd expect most of our players to finish, a few are capable of better like Palmer and a few are nowhere near good enough to be at an 11th placed team like Mudryk and Madueke. We finished 12th last year before Poch, that's the calibre of player we have. Edited February 25, 20242 yr by Whats_The_Mata?
February 25, 20242 yr I'd love to hate Poch. But we just didn't have the players to score when it mattered.
February 25, 20242 yr Ngl, I'm kinda glad that we lost this final because otherwise, Clearlake would have offered Poch a contract extension.
February 25, 20242 yr It hurts. And you can tell him to f*** off but ultimately, he's right. And that "name" is going to stick unfortunately.

February 25, 20242 yr Its ok we lost the game.. we had enough chances to win. No manager can win if we miss the opportunities we missed.. or the decision making we showed in the final third. Pool only played a match with U21s we have been playing a whole season.. We should have won the match in the second half.. I dont know why we were playing so scared .. the fear of losing gripped us.. Klopp had nothing to lose and thats the way the die roles sometimes.. Its ok.. the sun will rise again tomorrow.. A league cup win would have been awesome but wouldnt have been the elixir we may think it will be.. We simply need more quality upfront.. Jackson, Mudryk & Madueke arent the answers.

We finished 12th last year before Poch, that's the calibre of player we have. I disagree. Our squads are better than theirs. Starting XI may be another story. Regardless, a great manager can take a team of average players and make them perform. Poch has been able to spend a fortune and we’ve seen no change. If anything we look worse at times. Questions deserve to be asked.
February 25, 20242 yr A lot of people falling for the media hype that we just lost to U21's team. Yes Liverpool brought on some young players in extra time when most players from both teams were gassed. But for 90 minutes that was pretty well the best starting 11 that they had. Lets not fall for this poor Liverpool with their injuries rubbish when we had just as many out. Look at our bench for example. There were a couple of names I had barely heard of. The subs were mostly awful, but was anybody surprised that the likes of Mudryk stunk up the place? If Poch had left the same team out there and we had lost, people would have complained that we should have made subs. Ultimately, we missed chances in the 90, and then continued to miss chances in ET. So did Liverpool. It almost went to penalties and that would have been a lottery that we generally haven't fared well in. I suspect had we lost on penalties we would see the same complaints. I am not a big Poch fan, but I think he will still be here until the end of the season. After that who knows? But based on most decisions by Clearlake, I wouldn't have much confidence in them picking the right replacement.
February 25, 20242 yr It’s f*cking embarassing how we had to park the bus against mostly academy boys. We are better than that, he deserves to be sacked.
February 25, 20242 yr Passive Poch is not a winner, simple as that. Players do let him down, but good managers make men out of boys. Poch just doesn't have it in him. I can accept losing to better sides, but I can't accept continuing to lose because our mentality and desire is lower than the opposition. They just aren't prepared and are not progressing. I struggle to watch Chelsea under Poch. We're too easy to play against and repeat the same mistakes. Our "highs" are now celebrating draws against Liverpool, City, and Arsenal, 90th+ min winners vs. Palace, and scraping past Luton. Inept coach and staff.

Poch hasn't spent the money though, he didn't want these players he stated clearly he wanted experienced players but has been no attempt to actually build a team that will ever be able to compete just pure fantasy football sh*te that a bunch of untalented kids will turn into a super team with enough time. I don't think we've got much squad depth at all, look at some of our benches this season and when we need a goal we're bringing on Mudryk and Madueke. Poch won't last but make no mistake if we have all this deadwood here we'll go through 15 managers and drop a league by the time we're free of their contracts. February 25, 20242 yr That fact that we keep getting undone by set pieces shows he's not working on it in training.
