Jackson's profile is interesting. Seems like an Anelka type where he can do a job at ST or at either wing. Nizaar lets his bias show through way too often, being a Man Utd fan. I think generally his info has been correct but for a few times. We are losing Mount, Havertz and others not because they aren't good enough, but because we don't want to pay the wages they want to extend their contracts. Law has clearly lost most of his sources through the ownership change. He has dropped several tiers in reliability in my opinion and is always just guessing/going on feeling. In the London is Blue podcasts, he’s constantly saying things like “I haven’t checked on that”, which you never used to hear from him. He’s out of touch like you said, and also out of connections and sources. If he’s saying Chelsea should stay away from Jackson then the opposite is more likely to be true.

June 25, 20231 yr Signed for 32 million on a 8 year contract. Assume he's on low wages but thats a lot of money for Jackson for me.
June 25, 20231 yr I still don't know how to get use to these 8 year deals but I guess it's all fine if the wages are not too high... Looking to play in front of Nkunku then in a 4-2-3-1?
June 25, 20231 yr These massive contracts worry me. Imagine if we'd signed Bakayoko, Batshayui, Morata, etc... on 8 year deals. We'd still be stuck with them for another few years. It can go horribly wrong.

I thought they had clamped down on these after Boehly did this in January. Gary Neville will be sucking his thumb and stamping his feet. Oh the unfairness of it all.
June 25, 20231 yr You can sign any length of contract you like, but under the newer FFP rules to stop this, only 5 years count for Amortisation.

It is not a big problem imo, just play 442.

Eg, Danny Drinkwater was on a ridiculous £120,000 a week. Ditto Bakayoko.

Also, now with the multiclub model it should be far easier to "sell" some of these unwanted players as we can just send to strasbourg or something as a worst case scenario

Even with Kante leaving we don't want more regular members of the long term care club. That sets alarm bells ringing................. Bit late to the party on this one. I heard folk talk about Nicholas Jackson but he sounds more like a BBC newsreader than a footballer. To be honest, have never heard of him until about a month ago and it sounds like a gamble but to be honest, I would much rather we go the route of young potential star striker than go for another billy big boots who doesn't want to bust a gut like Lukaku, Aubameyang etc............

He'd of been Bournemouth's 2nd most expensive signing ever and at the time he had a pretty bad hamstring injury so they pulled out due to his recovery time, particularly when their relegation survival was at risk. Ironically, he exploded in form the moment he came back from injury. Quote However, having reviewed the Senegal international’s medical results, his hamstring injury is more severe than first expected – meaning Jackson will be ruled out for a longer period of time.

I've been on YouTube and done some research on him Nibs. He does have some very impressive footwork. If he can give us a bit of that everytime he scores it will make Peter Crouch's robot celebration look even w**kier than it was. Edited June 29, 20231 yr by just
