The kid is excellent and a far cheaper alternative to Felix.

Palmer is very good and a welcome upgrade but Felix did more in a few months than Mudryk and Madueke have done combined in a year. Teams need multiple quality attackers we'd look a lot better with Palmer and Felix than the young deadwood we give minutes to hoping they'll magically become completely different players in a year or two.

It also shows how dire our transfers have been… If we signed 5/6 players with the maturity and confidence of Palmer we’d be challenging for the title now. I would get behind the project of signing inexperienced young players if we signed 5 or 6 of the same calibre as Palmer, but the majority of the young players we signed would be a better fit for a club like Crystal Palace. No disrespect to Palace or anything, but that feels like the level a lot of our young players look capable of reaching.

So Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia, Gusto, Badiashile, Fofana are Crystal Palace level for you? You can't include the ones clearly designated for loan development incl. ones who were stuck here like Lesley and Washington.

But as key personnel, no chance, palace will get relegated.
November 8, 20232 yr What a little diamond we've got. Already I think he " gets it" . It's hard for me to define that, but it's a feeling that he is immersed in the club and the fans as if he's been here all his life and that it means a lot to him to be here. Sounds a bit fanciful I know , and it might be a load of bollocks, but that young kid looks to be a bit special
November 8, 20232 yr Will be a great test for him against City. There is no one close to them in world football imo.

Gusto hasn't impressed me so far, he is exactly the type of player I would expect a mid table side like Crystal Palace to sign. Lavia we haven't even seen and was relegated last season. Enzo is having an underwhelming season, but he's better than what we are currently seeing. Caicedo has been up and down. Badiashile is still unknown, he's in and out of the team and just come back from a bad injury. I didn't rate Fofana before we signed him and when he did play, I thought he was bang average. Mudryk, Madueke, Sanchez, Disasi, Cucurella, Ugochukwu, Chukwuemeka (had a positive start before getting injured) Jackson, I really don't see them being any different than what mid table teams would sign. Enzo, Palmer and Nkunku are probably the only players we signed that I can confidently say are better or will become better than mid table players.

He will start and has a point to prove....very curious to see what happens. Following the trend this season it's clear we play better in big games. If Poch goes with the game plan vs Arsenal. I think we will do reasonably well. Primarily because then Palmer is the focal point along with Gallagher. I would prefer this, for me they've been the best players in terms of consistent performances this season. Bookmark this post for when Palmer scores and shushes the bald professor for not giving him enough game time. One of my closest friends is a city fan. He rates Palmer highly and believes not only should they not have sold him but £40m was a steal. Tbf his takes tend to be pretty spot on. I think we may have finally balanced out losing KDB to them and considering we've picked up Nkunku too who looks the real deal I'd say we've benefitted from PSG's error in letting him go similar to us with Salah.

November 9, 20232 yr I was initially disappointed we spent so much on him instead of just using one of our youths. I knew he wasn't going to be bad cause you don't get close to City's starting XI if you are but I did not expect him to be this good so soon. It's also a bit worrying that City can produce players like this easily while the last attacker we had of promise was Hudson-Odi. I guess they are at the early stages of going through somewhat of a golden generation.
November 10, 20232 yr Deserved a call up to the England squad, but Southgate still prefers the likes of Phillips (doesn't play) Henderson (all but retired) and Rashford who has been in horrible form all season.

Yea, Southgate regime is just too established now for anyone who isn’t a world beater like Bellingham to break in. Levi Colwill, Palmer etc are gonna have to wait for whoever takes over from him. It’s a clique, the treatment of Henderson a symptom of that.

Southgate will probably say it's working because he got to the final of the Euro's, and the semi's of the world cup in 2018. England should never have lost that Euro final to Italy, they were the more talented side, played at home and Italy didn't even play that well. A better coach would have had Englad win that game. The world cup performances in Qatar were a bit up and down too. We always have the wrong coach for our most talented teams. The golden generation under Sven for 6 years, then McClaren. Capello was a good coach, but by 2008, the golden generation had become poisonous and nobody could fix it. The FA are England's biggest problem.

Good, thank you Gareth, long may he reign. Now if you could continue to leave Reece out, Conor and Levi too, that would be great. You can take Sterling back if you want to though, no worries there.

It's hard to really back a bunch of Liverpool, Arsenal, City and ex Spud players.

When the media and "England fans" went after JT for daring to be picked as captain ahead of Saint Steven I lost my connection to the national side
