Risk of what though? He's a footballer that needs to play competitive football. There will always be an element of risk.

Risk of reinjury for no reason? No need to rush him in when we’re 2 nil up.

This way he has a few more days of recovery, I’m definitely expecting 60 minutes against Newcastle.

If you can’t give him minutes in a position of strength , when is the right moment

Isn’t the goal to raise match sharpness? Gusto was given a run? If Nkunku is still an injury risk then he shouldn’t be on the bench imo.

Fair points.

And my personal favourite, it keeps @Whats_The_Mata? off the forum for another three days.

Ah the fabled 3 days of you and the other dreamer pretending we have the best players in the league again.

A truly blessed time and we may stay up after all.  40 points from our last 38 now the skies are clear.

Hey I'm always here baby! Win or lose. Newcastle will very likely smash us, I'll see you then!

There were actually quite a few positives from that:

- We won comfortably and never particularly looked threatened at any point;
- A competent first start and clean sheet from Petrović;
- Pochettino made changes which affected the course of the match positively (Palmer/Sterling switch, Broja off the bench);
- Good individual performances from Gallagher, Palmer and Caicedo;
- Mudryk looked feisty in the first half.

As I said before, people complained about Enzo playing high but who will feed Mudryk 🤭🤭

Sterling on the right is just waste of time. Get the ball with back to goal, no space, no runner. I will move him to  10 so he can do more.

The game changed after poch did this. Sterling to 10, suddenly he came alive,Palmer came alive.

It is just waste of time asking Sterling to play like Willian. I understand we need to make sure that our 100m winger can play in his best position (probably instruction from the top) but surely we can't continue to do this.

Other than than Badi is once again the standout performer.

Back to back home wins

Boring first half

Lack of intensity against a very poor opponent …why do we play so slowly from defence?

Palmer had a good second half

Gallagher and Caceido both played well

Hopefully we now can build some momentum

First sentence the most important.  If we are to develop any momentum at all, we need to turn SB into a proper base. We need to win 5 home games on the spin as a starter regardless of the opposition and the tournament.  5 home wins on the bounce pretty much regardless of performance will start to develop confidence

Put in perspective, they're 2nd from bottom for a good reason.
