If I were a Newcastle fan I would be fuming with the way the played in the second half. Steve Bruce-ball with a bit more cash.

To be fair, they have been destroyed by injuries and playing twice a week. They are physically drained.

Take the win, although pretty hard to judge the performance as for 91 minutes we looked dead, then something strange happened 😅 That's what knock out game it is, a moment of brilliance or stupidity the game change, which is why I reckon this is our best route to get back into European football than grinding out against 19 other teams every week. Poch probably saved his job, the mood is getting poisonous and very difficult for a manager to survive when players don't fight and fans turn against you

They finally got a second shot on target in the 91st minute. Only one team deserved to win that game and it wasn't the Barcodes.

Have to say though would swap Caicedo for Guimares in a heartbeat. A player who gives his all every single game and makes his team tick.

No way. Bruno is a hot headed idiot. Didn’t you see how he basically wanted to hurt Maatsen?

Yeah but you're not a Newcastle fan are you?

Again we were better immediately Enzo came off, not criticising him but clearly in the wrong position.

And FFS why would you pick Colwill in front of Maatsent when you want a left back.

Disasi did ok as a makeshift and considering Gusto coming back from injury, but Maatsen should have played from the start.

I think we can learn a huge amount from Newcastle.  On paper I'd probably take Guimares, Livramento and possibly Wilson. Yet pound for pound then are so much more than we are simply through effort, desire and constant running. If we could match their effort I every game we have the players and those that look so sh*t now can so easily look great. It is about fine margins, but it's all about running off the ball.

Actually thought Caicedo had a strong game. Gallagher on the other hand, despite everything really wasn't quite there.

I think Gallagher did everything. He is not your next Ballon dor winner but he gives everything and is excellent in timing his tackles when opponent tries a neat pass.

Off the ball he's your man. On the ball, it's not that he lacks skills, but the passing touch not quite. Still.

A good second half performance though it took playing the full backs in correct positions to turn the game our way

Mudryk took his chance well

Silva commanding at the back

Great to see Nkunku return

Petrovic looks a presence in between the sticks

Poch needs to start playing his best players in the correct positions

Something at last to build on

Caicedo had  better game but if VAR had been deployed he would have got a red for that early challenge.

Gallagher did okay. Bit sloppy a couple of times and a bit clumsy but hit the bar and he IS the legs in our midfield and we currently are f**ked when he's not there.

Didn’t see us scoring at all. Until trippier mistake, this team is very inexperienced and it shows with some costly mistakes… we need more experience in the team.

but anyway good to get to the semis next

Whatever people say about Mudryk, things happen when he's about because he's so quick... makes the opposition a bit panicky... maybe Sterling, unless he's on song, doesn't have the same effect...

The only other player, we've got, who would have latched on to that one tonight probably Palmer

Great result, only saw the second half, Barcodes parked the bus and paid the price 😁

And here we go on Talksport....it was all about Newcastle and their injuries, oh so sad for Newcastle and Eddie Howe....FFS has anyone seen the CFC Injury list!!!

Overall a strong match from the players and a well deserved win. Poor from Poch though - his use of Disasi at right back absolutely terrible with zero attacking threat on that side. And his absolute refusal to start Maatsen at left back is criminal.

Onwards and upwards! But Poch needs to sort himself out, quickly.

Hopefully Lavia will give us another option, he’s the only player I can think of replacing Gallagher for some games.

I think both players had both in equal measure actually @ozboy. The issue for me is that our care of the ball is so sloppy it undermines all we do. A great bit of player, tracking back  closing down and winning through ball back. Then follow that up with a simple 10 yard pass that is under hit and to the wrong foot and we gift possession back. Happens so often.

At best he can be our Gronkjaer.

Doubt he will ever be this balon d'Or candidate our recruitment team believes he can be.
