Think the team is going to be really good with both Nkunku and Palmer in the side.

I agree, I think they have the potential to really click.

Think it could take a bit of time though, they'll both be looking to drop into and occupy similar spaces. Against a low block that can make up too easy to defend against, so there will need to be an understanding between them on when to drop and when not to.

Very exciting for when it does though!

Palmer does well with connecting with Caicedo and Nkunku is elite in finding/creating space for himself. Carney links up well too.

Think we will see better performances from our midfield as a result.

I'd like to see something like this

Petrovic

Disasi Silva Colwill Gusto

Caicedo Gallagher

Madueke Palmer Mudryk

Nkunku

I want to see Colwill at CB, Gusto did well at LB against Olise and we shouldn't have to worry about Disasi at RB against Luton.

Madueke deserves to be rewarded for his performance last time out. We definitely missed Palmer and Mudryk is starting to improve so another start against a weaker side should help him.

Mudryk is probably out injured. So most likely we will see Sterling on the left.

Have the VCR set as won’t be getting up at 5am. Luton away what a nostalgic fixture

Yesterdays EPL matches were great both upsets, I’m hoping for more of the same tomorrow and against the odds Chelsea can get a crazy 2-3 win. I shall find out when I arise at a civilized hour and have a butchers so won’t be on the live match thread.

Hopefully it’s more like 1989 than 1976

I think we need to remember Gusto is a 20yr old player, the last thing we need is to play him at LB against a journeyman like Townsend. If he has a bad game that might knock him back. I wonder why Poch is not having a look at our u23s, we have 2 LBs playing at that level. We paid £4m for 17yr LB Ishe Samuels Smith from Everton this summer and he is highly rated and been named on the first team bench for both us (under Lamps) and Everton (under Dyche). There is no reason why Poch can’t put him on the bench and give him a few mins in the 2nd half if Colwill is struggling. That is a smarter alternative than the 2 GK subs he keeps naming on the bench.

I worry about Gusto getting injured if over played given his last season and a half history. Not much alternative just now.

I have Sterling on the bench as penance for his selfish play against Wolves 🙂

More minutes for Madueke off the bench in the 2nd half (on for Nkunku).

2-0 (Jackson and Nkunku)

You can't play silva next to gusto if you want gusto to go up.

This is just the sad reality of our team. We have so many of player that need a,b n c to perform.

I assume we will struggle today big time. Why?

-Early kickoff

-Luton is very good at home atm

-We won our last match. Players want to feel that old rollercoaster 🎢

-We won them last time with relative ease. They are well up for it.

My super optimistic prediction 2-2.

Great memories of Luton away games in the old days. Always guaranteed to be carnage in the town centre. And like today, often seemed to be a Xmas / New year fixture.

Tight ground, hostile atmosphere easy for match officials to be influenced here. The boys will need to be up for it.

I assume this one isn’t on any UK channels?

TNT . Hence the early KO for the TV fans and f**k the match going fans .

Well, at least it ain't far to go unlike the Wolves Christmas Eve game

Wasn't it Luton away when a train carriage was set on fire ?

Good to see Madueke get a start but I imagine a few eyebrows at both Jackson and Broja making the line up LOL

Enzo returns to the bench

Sterling gets benched after his selfishness in the Wolves game. Nice one Poch.
