Media w**kfest is in full swing. Chelsea players scoring badly - The telegraph gives Gusto 5/10, Caicedo and enzo 5/10, sterling 5/10, jackson and connor 6.

Liverpool in comparison - VvD 10, Endo 9, Konate 9,  Macalister 9, Robertson 8, elliot 8, luiz 8

Absolutley disgusting and unabashed bias.

Thought Caicedo won like 20 tackles.

Pochettino says Chelsea played for pens: “The team felt maybe penalties would be good for us” (@BobbyVincentFL) #CFC

Neville called this in ET. Said sometimes “you can play for penalties and end up with a bloody nose”

So basically if we scored one of our chances in the regular time we'd basically be amazing young up and coming side with brilliant future under a great coach that outplayed Klopps amazing Liverpool and is pissing on his legacy?

I don’t like the narrative of kids vs expensive veterans seeing as the Chelsea team was actually younger to start with but we did bottle it.

missed a host of late and golden chances that were easier to score and then meekly went out in extra time and allowed them to dominate despite being on the ropes for the previous 15.

It’s amazing. He’s still the same tactically poor manager he was 5 years ago. Hasn’t learned a thing.

What a terrible strategy, if true.  The day we stop wanting to win a game in any sense of normal time is the day the club loses its identity.  Can you imagine any Pep, Klopp, Arteta side doing that, or Real, Barca, Milan, Roma, Celtic, Rangers, Sevilla, Ath. Madrid - the list goes on, ever accepting that.

He should be out on his ear. I had a feeling at HT in extra time, we saw him talking to Colwill and Gusto . I bet he was sorting out who would take a pen. If so, no wonder our mentality is sh*t

How can it improve in a couple of years when at the end of this season we need to sell players just avoid FFP sanctions? Another season of this and it will be players like Palmer sold next. How can you think this dumb project has any hope when we are in this kind of situation?

We're only 4 points off 7th and I still feel it's more likely that we will finish 11th.

I honestly don't know how you can back a project that has shown zero signs that things will eventually come good..

You don't know how many players and which ones we need to sell if we do. The club is adamant there is no problem with FFP.

Our own youth is the best assets to sell. Most of our youth buys are players we are betting on to improve over the years. Remember there is the next young layer of players that are not even with the squad or in the fringes.

I am hoping to see every player improving a bit which leads the team to improve which leads to better results which could lead to winning one of these cups or Premier League at some point.

The squad that will win something is not what it is today as we will probably sell and buy 2-3 every window.

I could half understand it against a full strength Liverpool but an under strength Liverpool??

Within 5 minutes of extra time we gave away any momentum or fear factor we could of imposed on them.

Every time I looked at the screen Noni was playing in the right back position.

His lack of in-game management skills was there for all to see today.

What sort of atmosphere and response are we going to see on Wednesday night. Maybe need a day or two to settle things in my head as I just can’t imagine wanting to turn up.

Leeds will have a large following and will be up for it. Could be ugly if our team doesn't put this one behind us quickly

Well that was dogsh*te , Leeds will be tough too I reckon Poch has just lost his job and he'll be gone at the seasons end . He'll only last that long cos no one else will take it at this time

It’ll be hard to imagine any positive atmosphere at this moment but maybe we all need to dust over selves down and get over it. Easy I know

Never went after the Liverpool kids all game, sat back like a lazy Sunday afternoon, never pressed them or harried them and that sits squarely on the shoulders of the manager.  It will take till the end of the season or until Liverpool are handed yet another trophy for the noise and talking about how disgraceful this billion £ team were today.  I could understand the result if the 'project' was made up of young kids from the Academy or elsewhere, but that was a very very expensive team out there and it produced a woeful performance not fit for a Chelsea team.    Those players should be tossing those medals in the bin, hardly did themselves or the club proud today.

All of our forwards were massively disappointing today. Not one single forward turned up. Our defence and midfield was pretty good.

Sterling, Jackson, Mydryk, Nkunku Madueke, Palmer = £300m approx worth of signings.

Utterly embarrassing.

Glad I was unable to watch the game. But I am mostly sorry I came here to see these comments. Sad place this forum.

What do you expect it to be, sunshine and rainbows? After witnessing absolute dross week after week, month after month, bar a certain match here and there?

I am not having a dig at you, it’s an honest question.

We haven’t seen anything to suggest we are on the right track, and it’s been 10 months! No patterns of play, zero positional awareness, no fight, no tactical tweaks during games, comical errors, even the basics of football seem to escape this team, like they are touching a ball for the first time in their lives. Don’t even get me started on the abysmal substitutions - not even once has a sub changed our game for the better this season.

Yes, we’ve been decimated by injuries, but still, a competent coach would’ve established a certain playing style by now, regardless of the quality of the players available for selection. See: Emery at Villa, he turned them around almost instantly - surely their players are not better than ours? But they are well drilled and know what their roles in the team are.

We on the other hand, look absolutely clueless 95% of the time, every game it seems like it’s the first time they are seeing each other. Endless sideways passing and hope for an opening or an error.

What is there to be happy or excited about? Seriously, give me one thing that you’ve seen improved this season. Just one. Please.

Cannot afford to sack him with our FFP concerns.

Did Pochettino really say that? Good God it just keep getting worse.

all chelsea teams leave behind a legacy this Chelsea team have left behind a legacy that nobody wants  and today will never be forgotten  the bloody scousers will be singing how there kids  embarrassed us at Wembley for years

When we kicked off for extra time I thought here we go surely they can't hold out for another 30mins....

Instead a bunch of academy players battered us and deserved to win. We sat back faffed about, took our time as well as wasting it, we were a disgrace.

Agent Spud can f**k right off right now, he is as weak as a man manager as I've seen. A proper spurs bottler, how can we give away the upper hand in such a gutless manner is totally down to how the coach sent them out for the extra time.

For me poch will never recover in my mind for that 30 minutes of weakness.
