I repeat, this boy is far better than any winger in Chelsea easily. Im a very little time he will become one of the best in the world in his position, or the best.

Chelsea needs to take this boy seriously, manager and etc. For example, he does more in national team than vinicius jr.

Congratulations you guys from Chelsea for the acquisition

He's the wonderkid that keeps on giving. He unleashes such power when he shoots. His balance on the ball when running at speed is almost impossible to defend against. His decision making is beyond his years.

He's starting to make a name for himself this side of the Atlantic and we are very lucky to have him. I suppose we should thank the scouting team for spotting him early.

Dragging the biggest footballing nation in the world through matches and outperforming Madrid and Barcelona superstars but he can’t start multiple back to back PL games.

What the f**k would Carlo Ancellotti or Brazil know? Maresca won the Club World Cup don't you know

The kid is simply the best player for Brazil at 18yo. He's surprising everyone including Carlo.

Now, that does not change the fact this Brazil is dire, esp midfield. On the other hand, Carlo's style will make them annoying to play against at the WC; the big teams will always have to be watching their backs, which is something that usually works well in the playoffs.

He's playing against Tunisia, so definitely won't be starting against Burnley now.

So frustrating that we need to "protect" our players just for them to go on international duty and play every game.

Almost as if the club-pedalled notion that all our players need "protection" and "rotation" because they are "tired after the Club World Cup" is just a bunch of BS LOL

i said it time and time again ESTEVAO needs to start all games if fit, just because he is 18 means nothing, he is the best winger at Chelsea and Maresca needs to stop this crap of protecting him, Bigger teams wanted him and they are sniffing around now, the last thing we want is Maresca to continue to bench him because Estevao will lose patience and will look to go, and if someone like Real Madrid offer 100+m in the summer the owners will look to sell for quick profit

He certainly need to play a lot more but I wouldn't start him every game.

Along with Palmer he is far & away the player who will cause opponents problems and with Palmer out injured, Estevao should have been playing more. But sometimes, it's good to have such a gool option on the bench to bring on and change a game. Maresca's problems is that he never does it soon enough.

Id revers how we usually use young players, play him in the important games, rest him in the Fa and League cup games, dead rubbers etc. He has to get game time in the Prem and CL, these are the games we will need him to show up in so he has to get more time to adjust to the pace and physicality, though I dont think he will have a problem with either thing.

One look at Barca's handling of teenage players tells a story. The likes of Gavi, Pedri and Yamal all either out injured or carrying long-term issues after being flogged.

Real Madrid have also had major problems with Endrick injuries. He can't get fit now.

Do we really want to risk this?

Endrick has played under 900 minutes for Madrid in over 2 years and only had two minor injuries, somehow i don't think they've been overplaying him...

Young players need regular playing time to develop and, if they're potential world class as Palmer and Estêvão, they need to be starters in PL and CL. By all means, substitute them when the game is already won, and don't play them regularly in the Cups, don't take them to the US/Asia for glorified friendlies, etc that's how you don't overplay them.

I don't think anybody is saying Estevao should play every game, but he hasn't started a single league game for us since September. He has more minutes for Brazil in two games than he has for us in the league since August.

We usually have injuries all the time with players who haven't even played many games for us. . For sure we need to manage playing time , I don't know if a teenager needs special protection?

The constant rotation is infuriating, building relationships on the field between players is essential, not that it matters with our club because every transfer window will see another player churn..

Maresca better not take Burnley lightly or it's likely to be a long hard slog.

It's a valid concern, we have only to look at Lavia to see what can happen when a young body is overtaxed at the top level. Pedri vs Cherki (both 22) vs Estêvão (18):

I stand by what I said earlier that Estevao (and other young players) need to play less prior to age 20. They are in the highest bracket for injury risk and any serious injury at this stage to the knee or hamstring is likely to be career-defining. Estevao needs to be protected.

That said, I also think that he should start every game because for the good of all the young players in the team, we need to win games in the first half and see them out comfortably. Young players also need minutes and the only way this can be done safely is if they can 'coast' in games to an extent. Start Estevao, win the game in 60 minutes, sub him out.

I think in the longer-term that will be much safer for him and the whole team because right now, our teams are playing a full 90 on a knife-edge.

The reality is most fans can't careless about this.

I agree but you could also argue the converse. Go full and win the game in 45-60 minutes, then bring Estevao when there is more space, the opposition are tired and declared with less opportunity for contact injuries and muscular injuries from full out physical exertion
