Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*

If Maresca fails to win the Conference League and secure a Champions League spot, then I see absolutely no reason for him be kept on as manager. I would still get rid of him either way, but how do you make any sense of sticking by a coach that would have failed at every objective, both realistic and on the ambitious side?

As bad as they are, I believe United still have it in them for one last decent match at OT and snatch a draw against Villa. And I do not think we will lose at Forest.

With CL football secured we will thump Betis.

Admire your positivity but United are sh*t. And unfortunately, although we are better than them, we aren't great either.

Doesn't matter about other results anyway. We just have to turn up focused and 100% at it and beat Forest. Be great if we rolled back the clock and put in a performance like earlier in the season with the convincing wins v Wolves and Brighton. We haven't come close to those sort of performances for a while but lets hope we do so Sunday and again in the Conference Final next week.

Forest will be pumped up for this now that they can secure a CL spot with a win. This game will be like a Champions League final for them.

I hope we can pull it off but we're likely going to have to rely on United

How we behave the first 10-15 mins is key.

The Amorim experiment at United should be a cautionary tale for me as someone who isn’t happy with Maresca.

Unless we get the next manager correct which I have 0 faith we will based on the people doing the hiring we could be looking at two teams who headline a CL final less than 20 years ago becoming irrelevant.

The mad thing is, as much as people rag on Man Utd. Over the past five years they've been more successful than we have. They have won an FA Cup, EFL trophy, and they have the chance to get CL qualification and win a Europa league trophy this season. Our CL win papers over the cracks of just how poor we've been for a good while now.

Even if they win, it doesn't guarantee them CL football

Most grit we've shown all season, fair play

Think we'd be making a mistake sacking him unless it was for someone truly exceptional (e.g. Klopp), there's every chance we end up with a Amorim-esque situation like at United

Top 4 and a trophy is a good season, even without a trophy top 4 is decent, I think he should get another year

We already know he's staying so well done for the top 4 finish.

As @Sconnie Blue says it's time for the board to help Maresca by addressing the major flaws in our squad.

Then Maresca will have little excuses for a better title push - it's up to you Bohley to see if your just a business man or a winner.

Ended with same amount of wins as Arsenal ROFL

So your assessment is Arteta's mighty Arsenal won the same amount of games as Boehlys billion dollar bottlejobs who were deputised with the absolute horroshow of directors and capped of by the worst bald fraud Manager football has ever seen Enzo fraud Maresca? About right there?

Had us well prepared, and managed the circumstances and occasion very well. Such a young side - they grew today, and revealed character.

We need to improve, Maresca also. Let’s address some key positions and see what he does with a little more midfield depth next year.

People will gloss over the performances, and focus on the UCL qualification - but this would be short sighted.

What we need to see is progress on the field, and an evolution of our playing style. Maresca has failed to deliver that - and there remains zero signs that he can.

I don't care about 4th. In fact, I was disgusted at the players celebrating failure as if they had won the UCL or EPL. Shows how far standards have called that we are celebrating failure in this way.

We saw this squad doing pretty well in the up and down style football under Poch and half season under Maresca. We also saw us being pretty solid defensively latter part of the season. I think if we tweak the personnel and get a finisher I think we can see a more balanced and potent style.

These young lads have shown how talented they are. They never trusted the keeper which made building from the back hard and as we created second most chances in the Prem we failed to finish at a good rate which then puts caution to midfielders on to stay back and rotate instead of look for the goal and killing blow.

This squad is a new squad and they are all young, to suggest they should just walk a Champions league spot or an easy second in the league you are delusional. To celebrate meeting their goals is important. We want to improve step by step and not look at Lampard or Drogba for reference at this point in their young lives. Frankie was learning the trade at 21. Drogba was in France at 24.

Lets not make the horrible mistake like United and their fans have done being delusional. Let's be smart and balanced and realize where we are.
