Villa now losing.

I know the season doesn’t end after 3 games, but we really should be aiming high.

Villa look shambolic tbh. Look like the shadow of their team of last year

I think he's either bored or is experimenting. He used to always refresh his teams after a season, you can see his sides change even since the Barca days

When he first came to the PL, he was all about wingplays and wide spaces, then he changed to a versatile team scoring from everywhere, then through the middle when KdB can't run on the wings as much. He needs to figure out a new spine for his team

Totally agree. I also think they failed big time with their recent transfers. They brought way too many players that just does not feel like ones that City would have signed before he arrived or in the first years of him as a manager there. As a matter of fact, peak Guardiola would not even look at Matheus Nunes, Doku, Nico Gonzales, Kovacic, Ait Nouri, Kalvin Phillips etc.

Even Savinho, if he was not a part of the City group at Girona, I truly believe Guardiola would not have touched him with a barge pole. For me one of the most brainless wingers in world football. Doku as well.

Just watching Rayo vs Barcelona. Spanish football is just so corrupt it's unbelievable.

Half the players and managers are committing tax fraud as well. Shocking how they get away with all this sh*t.

Edit - Holy sh*t, just found out the massively dodgy penalty given to the cheating Brokelona couldn't be reviewed due to a "malfunction" with the VAR equipment. Its so bent out there. Absolutely no credibility to anything this mob do.

The players are just not out there anymore. Even look at the PL, how many quality wingers/ creators are out there? It isn’t a PL problem, it’s a football problem. Pep has always had the best players to work with, he isn’t someone who can fine tune average or dross.

Insane window from Liverpool but the media won’t dare put pressure on the darlings.

Guehi expected to be completed tomorrow also.

They can’t get enough of it. Sky have already posted an article how this eclipses the £115M Chelsea paid for Caicedo. So, they forget that was 100 fee plus 15 add ons, and Liverpool already went past both parts of that deal with Wirtz. The bias is comical.

It’s funny Wirtz doesn’t even get a mention - I’m sure he’ll go down as a free transfer!

The way Danny Murphy went on about how the referee needs to apologise for Fulhams disallowed goal, why is it only ever Chelsea who gets this treatment over controversial incidents?

It's always screamed out to me since the Diego Costa crimes incident by Sky. The golden children of Arsenal, Liverpool, and United never get this bull sh*t.

Murphy would never speak that way about Liverpool.

Was our draw with Palace that bad a result ? They look a well drilled and settled unit

Add to all that he played for Fulham for many a year.

What pisses me off is the fact that some haven’t even grasped or should I say want to acknowledge is that PGMOL haven’t said it was an incident wasn’t a foul what they ,PGMOL, said was in effect it didn’t meet the threshold for VAR to intervene!

Liverpool so far bought

Wirtz 116m, Ekitike 79m, Kerkez 40m, Frimpong 30m, Mamardashvili 29m, Leoni 26m, Pecsi 1.5m

TOTAL = 322.5m

Now they are buying Isaak 130m and looks like Guehi 30-33m

GRAND TOTAL = 485M POUNDS

is this a record?

They have sold so far 185m = 300m net loss

NOT A WORD FROM THE MEDIA OR EVEN OTHER FANS, IMAGINE IF THAT WAS US

It's unbelievable - especially after the big fuss Klipperty Klopp made when he was their coach.

I bet deep down their supporters are a bit gutted as they know if they win anything this season, all rival fans will accuse them of buying success, which was always their favourite tag-line. I just hope it all goes horribly wrong.

Not a rival team but former rival players showing they haven't changed since they played us.

Suarez grabbed one player by the throat and spat on a stadium worker, Busquets punched a rival player.

Not sure what's funnier, the delayed reaction to the punch or that girl seeing it kick off and running in to get some pictures.

I noticed that, too. I've just seen the current version of the law. The first part of the second bullet point is crystal clear and easy to interpret and implement, but the second part adds a subjective bit that is the entire cause of the hysteria.

  • Law 12 (Fouls and Misconduct): A direct free kick (or penalty if inside the box) is awarded if a player kicks or attempts to kick, trips, or otherwise impedes an opponent in a careless, reckless or excessive manner.

  • Standing on someone’s foot counts as a form of kicking/tripping or impeding progress and is therefore a foul if the referee sees it and judges it was careless or intentional.

It was confirmed before the game started that VAR wasn't functioning.

I was at the game so it was only when I played the game did I get to hear what the ref said. He said it was “ careless” then the pundits and ex players, including sadly Joe Cole, seem to have not grasped that wording is contained both with the Laws as written and indeed IFABs explaining how a foul is viewed.

In other words once a foul is adjudged to have occurred the ref then has to decide if it was

Careless. In other words just that a foul. No other sanction.

Reckless. If so assessed a yellow card has to be awarded

Or

Serious Foul Play . Straight Red.

Said it before for so many that earn a living from football haven’t actually got a handle on the laws.

What pisses me off is the PGMOL lacked the spine and caved to the pressure.

I thought VAR has to intervene because the incident led to a goal, if it wasn't a goal, the ref can ignore it.

It's not a record. We spent over 600m in one season. Apart from spending more , we actually plummeted down the table. Liverpool spent f**k all last season. And this spending might well give the PL title again

  • Author

I'm going to do something I never do and defend Liverpool.

Last season, they only bought two players for a total of around £50m, they made all of that money back on selling players. So they basically spent nothing. This season, they have spent a sh*t load of money, but they have also sold a lot too. It's painful to say it, but if these transfers work out for them, it's brilliant planning.

The media are w**kers though. When it's us spending that much money, and selling well at the same time, they almost never take notice of the players we have sold and just bring up the amount we have spent. You hear it during commentary of most games too, there is always some mention of how much money we have spent, even twats like Marco Silva do it when he was crying about the VAR decision. There are different rules for us it seems.

Guehi to Liverpool deal if off.

Sky Sports News reporter is distraught. I thought he was going to cry, as he listed all the other central defenders they have at their disposal.
