I had a random epileptic seizure in the supermarket last week and an ambulance crew took me to hospital. The hospital was very thorough (apparently it's very unusual for a 40-something to spontaneously develop epilepsy) and I got sent for EEG and MRI scans and they found a big tumor behind my right eye that was the root cause of the seizure. I had been feeling like there was something slowly going "wrong" inside my brain for well over a year, so it was kind of a relief to get an explanation, although I'd have preferred something less drastic. I doubt I'd have even gotten the scans/diagnosis if this had happened in the UK.

They removed most of the tumour surgically on Thursday morning and I've spent most of the time since then in a kind of post-anesthetic funk. Thankfully, I seem to live in a center of excellence for this kind of delicate/advanced neurosurgery here in Germany. There will most likely be ongoing radio/other targeted therapy for months, but I feel like I'm in expert hands.

The doctors warned me there was a real risk of paralysis and speech impairment as a result of the surgery, but so far I seem to have avoided anything like that. I have a big hole in the side off my head, but other than that I'm doing surprisingly well!

Best wishes bludave!

Good luck and a speedy recovery!

Sorry to hear about this.

Hopefully your ongoing treatment continues to go well for you Dave. 🙏

I think we'll finish above Villa and Liverpool

Cant see us finishing above both, we need to be at least 4th going to Anfield, after that we finish with Tottenham home and Sunderland away

Villa last 3 fixtures Burnley away, Liverpool home, Man City away

Liverpool last 3 Fixtures Chelsea home, Villa away, Brentford home

It will be close but the fixtures after Burnley in 2 weeks could decide if we have a chance

Arsenal away, Villa away, Newcastle home, Everton away, Man city home, Man utd home, Brighton away, Forest Home

10 points minimum plus 6 points from our next 2 games 59 points going to Anfield, 5th place last season was 66 if we can get a draw at Liverpool, beat Tottenham and get a draw at Sunderland will give us 64 so will need to win at Liverpool or Sunderland

Perhaps. I'm not convinced we are geared up to cope with what's coming at us from 1st March until 25th April. I hope I am wrong but I can see us really struggling for points during this period and with these performances we are putting any momentum we can gather is so fragile because ultimately we have been unconvincing against fodder.

I'm encouraged by the fact that we are scoring goals, and that we've had a good surge of form at the business end of the season in both of the last two campaigns ... I don't think we'll need as many points as last season for top 5 as well ...

Were you getting headaches? The seizure must've been a shock as it was!

Rest up and get well soon fella!

Was sat in the Wolves end today.

Never really left 1st gear, never really had to. Wolves are horrific but we got the job done, can’t have any complaints about that.

Santos & Caicedo are laying the foundations for such a great midfield base. Josh is 100% ready for ‘mens’ football and should see more minutes than Gusto going forward. I also know most people will struggle to look past CP’s hatty for MOTM but for me, Joao Pedro was once against absolutely instrumental in everything good we did on the pitch.

The only negatives are the same they’ve been all season, Pedro Neto is a dreadful footballer and Garnacho is no better.

Not headaches, but occasional sensations like I was suddenly viewing myself from a different perspective, a bit like an "out of body experience". They freaked me out but I just put them down to stress/poor sleep, of course, I never imagined it could have been the result of something real growing in my brain.

I'm lucky I had the seizure in public this time so it got properly taken care of. I think I had another one at home alone a few months ago without realising what it was. Just more "need to sleep/take better care off myself" thoughts...

By the looks of it we're gonna struggle to.break through all the white flags fluttering from our own stands and forums, ffs. Damn right we'll finish above Villa and Liverpool and the Mancs.......

I wish you a speedy and full recovery. It sounds like you’re in great medical hands. Thoughts with you.

@bluedave Bloody hell, Dave, that is scary. I'm pleased to hear that your surgery went well and you feel positive about your treatment! Get well soon 😘

Seems like we're a much better team with Caicedo, Santos and Enzo all playing... wish he'd get Palmer and Estavao and Pedro all playing together too...

Delap surprised me yesterday when he turned and shot - didn't go in but definitely a step in the right direction!

Think if LR's allowed to play our best 11 regularly we could challenge for the 4th spot but that's probably as good as it will get this year.

Looking at Andrey Santos' role of just protecting the backline and playing it safe most of the times (and doing a great job there), imagine how a healthy, fully fit Lavia would look in that no. 6 role next to Caicedo. I think he'd be perfect there. Crazy how a muscular injury that was supposed to be healed in around 3 weeks has now turned into over 3 months out. And still counting...
