July 15, 201610 yr Going through the Bond movies, sadly moving on to Brosnan soon, oh dear. Better than Timothy Dalton though, as much a bond as my grandmother.
July 15, 201610 yr Better than Timothy Dalton though, as much a bond as my grandmother. I disagree, I liked Dalton, he was actually closer to Fleming's vision of Bond, I enjoy his tough portrayals of the character, Brosnan is at the bottom of the heap for me.
July 15, 201610 yr Our Kind of Traitor - good, solid, John Le Carre thriller with great performances by Ewan McGregor, Damien Lewis, Naomi Harris and Stellan Skarsgård. Better than the reviews suggest and worth a watch.
July 16, 201610 yr I don't like any action movies, never seen one worth remembering. I think they've gotten worse over the years, but there are some gems.
July 16, 201610 yr Watched Starred Up. Really good, gritty British drama. Slightly cliche story but still a good watch.
July 16, 201610 yr The Shallows, a low budget survival film involving a shark and a woman surfer. Very short in length but long enough to keep you watching 7/10
July 18, 201610 yr I watched "No Country for Old Men" last night. I have always seen clips but never the full movie, so I gave it a go. Good movie!
July 18, 201610 yr Central Intelligence - with The Rock and Kevin Hart, quite funny and thought the story too it was interesting too.

July 18, 20169 yr Finally watching the new Star Wars film - am currently 10 minutes in and I'm feeling nauseous. If it stays this terrible I'm changing my username.
July 18, 20169 yr Finally watching the new Star Wars film - am currently 10 minutes in and I'm feeling nauseous. If it stays this terrible I'm changing my username. Just switch it off and see if you can find a stream with Bates Motel on it! Great stuff!
July 19, 20169 yr ^ Cheers for the recommendation, I'll give it a go. I've been looking for a new TV series for a while but never managed to settle on anything. I ultimately fell asleep about 40 minutes into the film; it seemed like utter dreck.
July 19, 20169 yr Just switch it off and see if you can find a stream with Bates Motel on it! Great stuff! I've given up on Bates Motel, 3 episodes in to season 4 and its awful. I personally think they're out of ideas. Edited July 19, 20169 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
July 19, 20169 yr I liked the new Star Wars, not as good as the originals, but still enjoyable, certainly better than the prequels, though I like ep 3.
July 20, 20169 yr New Purge film. More of the same really but if you enjoyed the other 2 then you will no doubt enjoy this one too.
July 20, 20169 yr New Purge film. More of the same really but if you enjoyed the other 2 then you will no doubt enjoy this one too. Nice really wanna see it as I really enjoyed the first two. Second one was more an action film, Frank Grillo basically played the Punisher in that film lol
July 22, 20169 yr Golden Years on Wednesday. How disappointing! I had high hopes for this as the cast was brilliant - Virginia McKenna, Simon Callow, Una Stubbs, Alun Armstrong etc etc. But the script was weak and lacking in sharpness and it was all a bit silly really. Not awful but not one of those brilliant little British comedies either.
July 26, 20169 yr Zero Days. Very interesting feature-length documentary about a cyber-attack on the Iranian nuclear enrichment programme carried out jointly by the USA and Israeli governments. The attack involved infecting control computers inside the nuclear plants with a highly sophisticated computer virus that caused centrifuges to speed up out of control and eventually explode. It was actually very effective and probably delayed the Iranian nuclear programme by about a year, but the end result is that now the virus is out in the wild and could be used by hostile nations to attack our own infrastructure. It also pissed off the Iranians and motivated them to ramp up their nuclear programme even further. Scary stuff.
July 29, 20169 yr 'Room', a drama/thriller about a woman and her son who forcibly live in isolation for years; incredibly heartfelt and moving. Certain scenes made my heart beat at a pace that few films nowadays do!
