I thought Jordan Amavi was pretty good before his injury. In the Leicester game I remember him basically marking Mahrez out of the match, even to the point that he forced Ranieri to move him into the middle.

I respect your point - but do consider this

1. Just because a team is relegate does not mean that all their players are pathetic.

2. He was their player of the year last season

3. He is younger (26) and faster than Ivanovic and he is also tall and strong.

I see your point that we can try and get an RB who is better established in a team that is probably more fortuitous and has also made a name for himself, but if we are planning on discount shopping he will be a safe bet to buy.

No issue with signing players from relegated teams. Still think we should have resigned Parker when Spammers went down. But AVB picked Romeu. Another sparkling decision by that muppet.

To be fair, Joe Cole was a 22 year old world class talent that would have moved regardless. While Janmaat is a decent player, he doesnt have half the talent or ability.

i agree, Cahill was bought from Bolton which relegated at the end of that season

Hasn't played for a long time, I think he lost some confidence and fitness game, I think paying 35m is too risky at the moment. If we will loan him and test him in PL, would be much better.
