Random Rumours

Well, I have heard that rumour in Genk, yesterday, RIPMourinho.

Would be good for us. (Left us in 2014.)

Don't know if he's good enough for Chelsea? Depends who's leaving and what your plan will be after this season.

But, he's strong. Very strong!

Did well in Italy. Some teams want him, so ...

Didn't we want to sign Okore a few years back but he went to Villa for first team action? Now that they're going down why don't we snap him up on the cheap. He's still young (23) and from Denmark so can be best mates with Christensen when he returns

Not really seen much of him at Villa but can remember him being unreal at Nordsjaelland and for Denmark.

For f**ks sake, I'm getting sick of these links to these random players who inevitably will be shipped straight out on loan.

Whoevers in charge of our transfers and loans, needs to be sacked ASAP

So the club should sack someone because the media links Chelsea with transfers, even though the majority of rumours never happen.

This. Some logic are tiring, honestly.

I think it's more a comment on the scattergun approach to transfers that show no cohesive policy, no real development path for young talent and don't improve the squad.

Funnily enough the person we were linked to as a new Technical/Sporting Director was Walter Sabatini, who signed Manolas, Pjanic,  Marquinhos and Nainggolan. Sadly it looks like he might be going to AC Milan.

why do we keep getting linked to pogba? are other people seeing something special about him that i am not seeing. i really don't think he looks like some super midfield player tbh. i know there are other people who think he's overrated too.

Because at his best, he's got everything.

He's physically strong, he's tall, he's pretty fast with and without the ball, he can dribble, he can tackle back, he reads the game well for someone his age, he can strike a dead ball and he pops up with important goals from midfield.

He's not the finished article but there's really no weaknesses in his game and the reason we're linked with him is because in a Conte midfield, he is the perfect player.

Well after the mess that JM left us with...together with his regrettable decisions over Lukaku, Mata, De Bruyne etc. Perhaps Conte should be questioned more rigorously about his choices before we spend yet many more millions on "his" players...especially given the wealth of talent already available within our own existing youth team and loanees....

I don't think that's what he's saying. Only when they have a proven record and run of poor or lower class signings. Dijobodji, Hector, Miazga.

Does he have a proven record?

The media have reported that Emenalo opposed singing Pato, and Miazga.

Pato was purely cover. Nothing else which considering we've got Diego suspended and Remy injured might mean we won't have to rely on Falcao for the next match.

Miazga appears to me to be a signing made for 50% football, 50% business. He will undoubtedly raise our support in the US but has the raw potential to make it here if given the chance.

Jovetic? Please no!

Don't rate him in the slightest

I do rate Jovetic, he was pretty good for city, then he just seemed to be frozen out, I'd take him on a low fee, he's better than both Falcao and Remy, and probably better than Pato also (can't yet judge Pato though)

He seemed to get plagued by injury at City

Given that Yaya's agent has pretty much confirmed he will leave city, how about getting in Toure? I can see him being a decent addition to the midfield for a season or two. At his best he is still a beast, and I would hope he would want to stick it to pep at city....

I know he would not likely be our first choice signing, but if/when we inevitably fail to sign pogba, would Toure be a bad back up?

True enough, although by the looks of their constant injury list (like arsenal) I'd wonder whether that's an issue with medical staff, we seem to do pretty ok in keeping injury prone players fit (barring falcao, but he's sh*t)

As for the Toure comment, he's just such a liability sometimes, and he commands ridiculous wages, i'd say there are a lot of better, cheaper, and more fit for purpose options out there. Can you imagine having Cesc and Yaya in midfield? We'd need Makelele to come out of retirement to allow that midfield to operate without being torn apart on counter attacks

No.

He's past it and is only in it for himself, guys a bad apple.

Plus he'd be wanting silly money.

Big NO from me.

Totally agree. He's only getting worse now and he clearly doesn't give everything he's got in games. For the last 2 seasons, Toure has looked uninterested. He is worst type of footballer we can sign right now.
