I think he might have to start being the old Torres soon if he wants to stay three more years.

But don't read too much into him talking about his contract, the guy doesn't honour them. Wasn't he contracted at Liverpool until 2013? Ahem...

For the paycheck he is on this was to be expected but it is easily solveable by all us fans at the last home game of the season:

As has been pointed out why would he want to leave? Who would play him what he is getting paid AND provided him a city like London to play in?

I think the only way to get rid is to loan him out till his contract finishes. Like we did with Veron and Sheva.

Are we really back to petty name calling, and planning to jeer him at a game?

Get a grip people, do you expect him to do an interview saying he can't wait to leave?

Judging by today's papers, he sounds both determined and desperate to stay with us.

why do people take press quotes so seriously? what do you think these interviewees are going to say? "nah, i want to leave next season. its pretty boring here"?

That would really cheer me up if he did.

Maybe we should have a Torres thread for each of the next 3 seasons....or this thread could reach a 100,000 before he's gone   ...that's a lot of pages to go through for a newbie so they can catch up.

I hope you're not suggesting that these three are a multiple personality.....  

If he really is going to be here for 3 more years i'm truly saddened, because I can already see the many long nights of standing in front of the tv swearing and waving my arms around in frustration as he flops around the pitch. As much as I want him to be good it's just the sad reality, surely he should want a fresh start by now.

Not as much as he wants 100k a week unfortunately.

I find it hard to understand why he threw a strop at playing second fiddle to Drogba but doesn't mind playing second fiddle to Falcao. Cos i guarantee he will.

Because he now knows he is finished and wont get anywhere near the salary he is getting with us unless he goes to China or Russia. So better to sit on the bench earning 175k or go back to spain and earn half that or go to China. I think we all know what he would rather. Everyone knows he is finished so he will pick up as much money from us as he can and then go back to spain and live his life out as a very rich man.

Another Malouda / Bogarde situation developing here ... Torres is wanting to sit out his remaining Contract years with Chelsea due to money reasons only ... this is worst case scenerio for the Club ... but not unexpected, at all ... I suspect the detrimental impact Torres has on the Team will be allowed to continue ...

As far as im concerned watching him again tonight, he can f**k off.
