Gary Cahill - PL CL FAC LC EL champion

Featured Replies

Came in to be a squad player ended up a winner and Captain. Not bad for someone I barely had any hopes on when he first signed for us. Thanks for all your services Gary Cahill. All the best for the future!

Ended up being a good signing for the club with what he cost.

Won a lot of what he won through who he was fortunate enough to play alongside imo.

Be remembered on the same level as Ferreira for me. Never really a stand out player but did a steady job when needed.

Been a good servant for us, feel like he was surrounded by top players at times which made him win more than he would have anywhere else. But none the less he played his part in many of our victories and I feel he's leaving at the right time, and on a high.

Fair play to him.  Came from Bolton who were relegated and won the lot with us.  Shame that Sarri gave him such a cold shoulder, but Cahill was always around the team and seemingly upbeat.  Could have done without the comments in the program on the final home game of the season, but a great servant to the club and deserves all our thanks

He was told early on he wasn't suited to Sarri's tactics, he could have found a new club had he wanted to.

Look at this man's trophy haul in 6 and a half seasons (?) with Chelsea.

He played a big part in those and was captain as well.

Not bad for a guy bought as a cheap back-up option in the mid season transfer window.

(6 and a half seasons...)

2 Premier Leagues

2 F A Cups

1 League Cup

2 Uefa Cups

1 Champions' League

And

3 Times Selected in the Players Team of the Year.

(Let's not forget his goalscoring for defender as well.)

Good luck Gary

Under-rated palyer. If he was on form for the last worldcup I firmly beleive that England would have been in the final, for a start he would not let old man Mandzukic  to skip past him int he final minutes, he would have taken one for the team if he had to.

As some of you may remember I have some personal expereince of what a great bloke he is !

Escaped eventually relegated Bolton in January to start and win the Champions League final in the same season. Absolute legend!

Am i the only one finding Cahill really disrespectful to Sarri?

No, I think he comes off very salty about the situation last year, toeing the line of being unprofessional.  It's the manager's job to put the team on the pitch that gives us the best chance to win while playing the way the manger envisions.  Cahill didn't fit the type.  He could have left for Fulham in January, why didn't he?

In short, he wanted game time but wasn't prepared to take a wage cut to get it, which is fair enough but then you can't whine when you reap what you sow. I mean surely he was smart enough to realize Rudiger, AC and Luiz were going to be ahead of him in such a system like Sarri's? (his comments on Lampard are laughable, he would have seen even less time if Lampard came in as he almost surely would have prioritized Ampadu getting the EL/LC minutes).

He should be thankful we changed style of play so late on in his time here, because had we gone down this road a few years earlier he would have been out on his ear during his peak.

I don’t care about what he says now. It was bad when he was still a Chelsea player but he’s not anymore so he can say what he likes!

He could come out and call us all a bunch of c**ts if he likes, he won the Champions League with one leg and a Luiz :laugh2:

I thought Cahill was fit and Luiz was the one with one leg?
