January 14, 201610 yr He's still living off those two screamers against Juventus, in my opinion. I'd rather RLC play instead, even if he's young and raw, at least he drives forward.
January 14, 201610 yr Thing is, how often does he ever play a good through ball for the striker, or hit a good shot from the edge of the box, or put in a good cross? All the things the #10 is supposed to be doing. He runs around, puts in the occasional tackle, and recycles the ball. That's about it. I agree with this he's turned into a CM in the 10 position, he should really swap places with Cesc, although Cesc has really been playing well last few games in CM. Oscar as a winger? I can't remember him being that great either in his first season.
January 14, 201610 yr I think he might lose his spot. Guus' has said he will play RLC and Kenedy more in upcoming games.
January 14, 201610 yr one fancy back heel last night...err that's it...perfect for those that judge Oscar's 'brilliance' on the five minutes cfc get on match of the day
January 14, 201610 yr Great vision and desire, poor execution at times. I'm not 100% sold that he's a #10, and for anyone suggesting Coutinho have possibly only watched his highlights. Good goals now and then, but just as "invisible"
January 14, 201610 yr He got no excuses left for his consistently poor performance, we kept him instead of Mata? f* ridiculous! At the beginning Everyone thought he will be a superstar. It took me only one season to realize he's rubbish... It was season before World Cup. When it comes to Mata, he's probably best player (with De Gea) MU has. Edited January 14, 201610 yr by Michael440
January 15, 201610 yr I also share in the disappointment with Oscar's erratic form but according to the stats he created the most goal chances on Wednesday night(four).
January 15, 201610 yr I also share in the disappointment with Oscar's erratic form but according to the stats he created the most goal chances on Wednesday night(four). Anyone can create a chance though. Just pass the ball to someone from 5 yards and if they take a shot, that counts as a chance created.
January 15, 201610 yr We just seem to go around in circles where Oscar is concerned. So much hope and expectation but ending in mostly disappointment and frustration. When he is good, he is fantastic, but way too often is just plain average. He had a MOTM performance against Sunderland and since then has been poor. Think it might be time to part company in the summer. If we were the sort of club who gave youth opportunities and have given some of them more minutes up to now, we might now have one ready to step in but failing that we could really do with a consistent performer like Mahrez or Payet have been this season.
February 4, 201610 yr According to the sun (yes I know), we turned down a bid of over £57m for Oscar last month from same Chinese club that bought Ramires...what the hell were we thinking? Article does say they will be back for him in the summer...one can only hope
February 4, 201610 yr lol yeah surely we could not have been so stupid as to turn down an offer like THAT for Oscar....*cough* Falcao *cough* nevermind.....
February 5, 201610 yr According to the sun (yes I know), we turned down a bid of over £57m for Oscar last month from same Chinese club that bought Ramires...what the hell were we thinking? Article does say they will be back for him in the summer...one can only hope It's a risk accepting that offer because it's highly likely that Oscar wouldnt want to go to China, so we would be upsetting an important player for no reason. Juve will be back in for him in summer too, and they are a more realistic proposal
February 5, 201610 yr Telegraph saying it was £75m!!! What were we thinking? Edited February 5, 201610 yr by The Brit
February 5, 201610 yr No way this is true, we would pack off any of our player except maybe Hazard without a doubt for that money.
February 5, 201610 yr I guess we are holding out for more, if the rumour is true. This kind of crazy spending won't last forever, I really think we should sell if another offer like this comes in. Considering our priority for next season, we should sign a couple of proven players in the EPL.
February 5, 201610 yr No way this is true, we would pack off any of our player except maybe Hazard without a doubt for that money.Eden's price is probably closer to 100mill. Otherwise even at the first quoted 57mill there is not anyone else in our squad I can think of we would likely turn down that money for.
February 5, 201610 yr Even though a lot of people here don't seem to like Oscar, I think under the right manager he could be pivotal for us. We keep getting linked with Italian managers, so maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel for him, it's often been a more technical league than here. Plus if the rumours are true the Juventus under both Conte and Allegri have been interested in him, if one of them were to come here instead...
February 5, 201610 yr i do wonder if hazard would go there lol and how much we'd get for him if they're offering 75 mil for oscar! stupid though because these kind of players would likely want to stay in europe. these chinese are f**king ruthless though, won't be long until they make a surprise, big name signing. February 5, 201610 yr Oscar is 24 and still considering a valuable member of the Brazil squad, it's highly unlikely he would have accepted the contract even if the club gave the go ahead so there's no point in unsettling him. By rejecting the bid it shows Oscar that the club still value him and see him as a key player. Edited February 5, 201610 yr by Remodez
