May 2, 201412 yr Guess we'll have to agree to disagree then. That answers my question and tells me you know hee haw about what your trying to discuss. Wtf? If anything, you're the one who's failed to respond to my comment which I addressed you with? Your question was who was better at developing players; I've answered as well as answering to your other comments below that question and says the person who said that the Porto players were all average before Mourinho. It doesn't sound like you have much of an idea what you're talking about really?
May 2, 201412 yr What could concern me is Mourinho, trying to get Hazard to change his game, to the detriment of Hazards attacking capacity, the Fella is a footballing genius on the ball, I'd rather he was coached to improve his atta king prowess.
May 2, 201412 yr Whilst Hazard has been mis-quoted there is no doubt Jose is livid he spoke so soon after the match to the French press. NO1 Hazard is Belgian, French football is pants and a spell at Lyon doesn't mean he is deserving of public scrutiny. NO2 after watching the game again both Hazard and Ashley can be considered at fault for two goals. NO3 Hazard will learn just like Joe Cole that Mourinhp can change his game for the better and should he decide otherwise his career might well. Go down the same path. NO4 Hazard should keep his gob shut and avoid quotes that could affect his relationship with fellow players, the fans and the Manager. NO5 Hazard has yet to prove he is the finished article or is consistent enough to be mentioned in the same breath as Arjen Robben let alone Messi, Ronaldo or Bale.
May 2, 201412 yr In case you guys wanted to giggle at a couple of Americans arguing about Chelsea. The hobbes guy is a scouser. http://www.shaggybevo.com/board/showthread.php/133728-Premier-League-2013-14?p=6630085&viewfull=1#post6630085 Mo - you don't post often - nice to see you.
May 2, 201412 yr I suspect Jose plans these big games meticulously and everyone has to fulfil their duties. It was nothing to do with fitness from what I could see, he just lost concentration and lost his man. Deserved a roasting if you ask me...doubtless it would all have remained private had not Hazard decided to have a moan in public. Stupid stupid boy....who needs to be reminded who's in charge. I suspect that after tomorrow there will be a few more things for the papers to write about and the Jose fest will hopefully die down from tomorrow...
May 2, 201412 yr who are the players to pull him up on his decisions when he is the person who is appointed to manage? until hazard is performing like ronaldo and winning then he has absolute no opinion and then when he is performing like ronaldo then he wouldn't opine.
May 2, 201412 yr Some quotes conveniently left out by some of the media but printed in the guardian...they also make the point that Jose spoke with hazard before the Presser to say that he would be addressing his post match comments today so there is no attack, Eden knew it was coming..so chill out some of you...Jose has this under control...have some faith "He's had a good season, and made an improvement," said Mourinho. "He was brought to a different level of performance and understanding of the game. Remember the performance at Manchester City, which was a very complete performance. So I have no problem with him. He's a young guy. His evolution was fine. Does he still make mistakes? Of course he still makes mistakes. But he understands. It was the first time in his life he'd played a Champions League semi-final. It's a career that's he's just started." http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/02/jose-mourinho-chelsea-eden-hazard-not-for-sale?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Edited May 2, 201412 yr by The Brit
May 2, 201412 yr The Guardian article reads so much less harshly than the BBC one. The BBC can be incredibly sh*t and tabloid-like at times, and to think our license fees pay for that drivel. Edited May 2, 201412 yr by bluedave
May 2, 201412 yr Beeb not the only one though...most of the other papers stick the boot in and conveniently leave the above out...agenda against cfc and Jose? you better believe it Edited May 2, 201412 yr by The Brit
May 3, 201412 yr Jose isn't stupid and he doesn't say things in public before carefully considering their consequences, especially a press conference he's had 2 days to think about what he was going to say. He'll say one thing in public and do or say something else in private, just as he's been doing all season. He may criticize Hazard in public, but then he'll undoubtedly speak to him in private about what he said and what he meant and what he wants from Eden. A few months ago Eden gave an interview where he praised Jose for being extremely close to the players, and I doubt there is any fall out between the pair. Just a few days ago Eden acknowledged that he and the team have to improve next season, and Jose is reaffirming that. Hazard seems like a fantastic professional and i'm sure he'll kick on from here.
May 3, 201412 yr The whole alleged Hazard dig at Mourinho thing is annoying me at the minute. I usually take these things with a pinch of salt, but Eden should leave the management to Jose, show some respect and get on with whats needed of him. Same with David Luiz and any other player. Its called professionalism. We wouldn't call out our bosses on work matters in a public place... Disappointed that any of our players would give the media even more ammunition to use against us in the back pages of the daily toilet paper. We lack the attack power and creative spark to play attacking football. So until we address those key areas, we have to play defensively minded.
May 3, 201412 yr I'm sure hazards comments where due to the emotional nature of the loss in the semi final of the CL. Hazard is young and needs more experience in losing big games, real winners know how to lose gracefully, this moulds them into to better players that have big game mentality and can turn big games around. Unfortunately Chelsea play as a team and therefore the whole team needs to accept the responsibility of this loss, hazard must learn his place and not place blame on others. Jose has enough experience with unknown names that he turned into house worthy names. Football is a tactical game, you attack at certain times and defend at certain times, if you want attractive football support barca or Bayern oh wait they have both been knocked out of the CL? So attack attack attack doesn't win all the time. The important thing to remember that no one player is bigger than the team. Up the blues!!!!! Edited May 3, 201412 yr by Wolv
May 3, 201412 yr Talk in French papers that PSG are interested in swooping Lavenzi and Cavani for Hazard, well not really but wait for it
May 3, 201412 yr Who does Hazard think he is to question Mou? Selfish and egotistical this lad is! What, heading to Lille as guest of honor when his team needs him. Refusing to track back in the biggest match of the season to cost us a final spot and then questioning the greatest manager ever? A manager that has constantly fought for you to be recognized all season? Nuts! We are the Chelsea and not Barce or Bayern, we fight , we grind out results , we battle, we sacrifice ourselves for the good of the team ala JT, FL ,DD etc and this spirit was instilled by Mou. This same spirit won us trophies, if Hazard is not comfortable then he should take his cute little wife and head to PSG his real love. Nonesense!

May 3, 201412 yr Talk in French papers that PSG are interested in swooping Lavenzi and Cavani for Hazard, well not really but wait for it To be honest I would actually consider Lavezzi + Cavani.
May 3, 201412 yr Author When hazard left lille, he said he would never play for another french team, which ruled psi out of the running then. He's won all the individual and team awards available in France, so the chances of him going there are slim to none. The only team I think he might leave for at some point is real Madrid, bit they have Ronaldo and bale, so unless they want him in the 10, I can't see that happening anytime soon.
May 3, 201412 yr To be honest I would actually consider Lavezzi + Cavani. For Hazard? no f**king way.
May 3, 201412 yr At the top top level unless your a Ronaldo or a Messi and you score 60 goals a season you cant carry single a player. Hazard isn't that good yet so he has to work hard for the team. He doesn't have to be good defensively he just needs to track his full back, although Mourinho could of played him as a number 10 and put Willian out wide instead. Look at players like Robben, Ribey and Reus all work hard and run there socks off and there world class players and the reason they do that is because you have to at the top level. Robben was quite lazy in his defensive work when he was Hazards age but as he has got older the more he has realised how important it is and now look at him.

Very true, arsenal have good attacking players, not as good as hazard I will say, but they are so slack at helping out defensively and it really shows, mainly in the big games, the way we've been playing means everyone has to do their job or the whole team suffers, hazard is not an exception to this, we've seen that mata was sold for not doing his defensive job, that's how important it is
May 3, 201412 yr Although I appreciate Hazards words were taking out of context by the journos as you'd expect, he should really be more careful with the things he says to the press. It's just giving them ammunition to attack the club with. I do agree that at times he's left to create alone and that can't be easy as he said, but, some things need to stay in house. As for Jose comments, I reckon he'll of already told Eden what he thought about his comments & no doubt told him to be more careful, and made it clear he had to come out to the press and establish who's the boss, and rightfully so. Time to move on from it, nothing more to see here! He'll have a great World Cup, no doubt and come back even better next year!
May 3, 201412 yr Thing is hazard has improved a lot when it comes to tracking back this season...unfortunately he slipped back into bad habits on the biggest stage of all...maybe the injury and not playing for three weeks played a part
May 3, 201412 yr Either way, I agree with comments above, it should have been handled in house if he was genuinely concerned about the set up of the team. No player is bigger than the team. True words. Hazard has been ordinary the last few months. Maybe to do with burn out. I don't think the nlad knows his limits yet, which comes down to naivety. He has a lot to prove in coming weeks. Not all that impressed with his attitude at the moment.
May 3, 201412 yr Thing is hazard has improved a lot when it comes to tracking back this season...unfortunately he slipped back into bad habits on the biggest stage of all...maybe the injury and not playing for three weeks played a part I'm sure it did. Those mistakes were very costly, but over the season as a whole he's shown a willingness to work his socks off for the team.
May 3, 201412 yr he had a great season, said something stupid in front of the camera media jumps on it cause they want to destabilise Mourinho, it's a mousetrap, let's not get involved...
