I'd take him if pogba kroos and Vidal weren't available. Homegrown, knows the league and the area, has leadership qualities, and I think he would be excellent next to matic.

Agreed, he is a good enough fit and a talented enough footballer to be worth swallowing our collective pride for. Although I would definitely miss making pejorative comparisons between him and Lampard I think he would improve our team a fair amount and I'm sure we'd grow to like him eventually...

Wouldn't like to see him wearing blue shirt... Although much more expensive, Pogba is much better solution to a "problem" in the midfield.

For that sort of money i'd rather we get someone a little more physical that still has that finesse about them, like Pogba.

 

Spending a few years at Barca has probably made Cesc even softer than when he was at le arse as well.

To be honest, my respect for him as a competitor went up not down after that game.

Before then, I thought he was one of those nancy pancy footballers with fancy skills but no balls.

He's probably not going to come to Chelsea, but I personally would be glad to take him in (provided it was at a reasonable fee and wages).

I dont think Mourinho would want Fabregas, My wish would be Pogba but i still feel its unlikely. I still wouldn't mind playing Oscar there next to Matic and maybe trying to get a more creative number CAM or just move Hazard there.

I don't see how Matic-Pogba would work out, to be honest Fabregas would be a rather fantastic option for our midfield, but I feel we could simply move Oscar down there.

There isn't really room for a Lampard type player if we continue to play 4-2-3-1. God knows our AMs have shown that they can carry the bulk of the scoring load, we simply need two midfielders to shield the defence and distribute to our more creative players.

We had that for the majority of last season and, in my opinion, it was one of the main reasons we were unable to break down certain teams. When we're playing the top teams, then I'm all for using two 'destroyers' in midfield. However, when we play the lesser sides who defend deep we need someone who can set the tempo from midfield and find the incisive, killer passes through for our AM's and Striker to run onto. Ramires doesn't have that ability, Matic looks like he might but again it's not quite his nature either.

This will not be everyone's cuppa, maybe no one's but we are all entitled to opinions, no matter what may appear a tad crazy.

 

Van Ginkel will be fine alongside Matic in HMF, with Ake as back up. We need to play the latter more, use or lose. Mikel and Ramires should go, cash in and ship out whilst we still can.

 

In front of them we can just rotate Schurrle, Salah, Oscar, Willian, Eden and Thorgan. If Oscar doesn't man-up and face the pace and physicality head on, then we may need to ship on January, sad to say.
