The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring Thread

Featured Replies

Who knows? Maybe being a family man has given him something a little extra he never used to have.

Would caused an almighty explosion of confused emotions if he were to make a costly error next game. We've seen it before with everyone quick to point out his various shortcomings when things go wrong. We'll probably see it again, though I'd like to think not.

If he's playing well, he deserves to be in.

I love Matic and I will probably keep making excuses for him, but he has played himself out of the team. On form, he is majestic. Seeing him win possession, hold off a player, weave through the pitch with an odd level of gracefulness and slide through pinpoint passes, it is a true pleasure. Hope he gets back to ii soon.

Yep I hate someone because I don't rate them as a footballer

Am very certain you will be praying for him to have a bad so you can come back here and tell us you knew it's coming. But the good news is just as José was a big fan Matic and rarely drop him after a many bad games, Guss is also a big fan of Mikel from his comments, he knows Mikel will sometimes make mistakes like other players because he isn't perfect but he won't drop him soon except in a cup game. So you can keep hating as much as you like and spread as much negativity here IT WON'T CHANGE GUSS' VIEW OF MIKEL AS HIS IDEAL PLAYER TO PROTECT THE DEFENCE!

Both mikel and fabregas had good games although going forward mikel for me is not the answer. We need a DM that can not only be disciplined but is quick enough to avoid giving away needless fouls.

I know you're a fan Ploks but that stat is as meaningless as any!!!

But as long as JOM carries on putting performances like he did on Sunday I'm all in favour of him continuing ahead of Matic.

Mourinho never dropped Ivanovic even though he was playing terrible. Matic has had an awful season, but who's had a good one? William and that's it.

I knew Guss was a big fan of Mikel from his first spell and told other Chelsea fans Mikel will be back in.

I'm not a hater and I'm not praying for Mikel to play bad. If he does well till the end of the season then fair play to him, I just don't rate him as a player like you.

Does this chart count a 5 minute closing out the game appearance as a game Mikel appeared in? That would skew the stas brutlly.

Mikel usually came on when we were winning, and rarely came on when were losing and looking for a goal. So I think the stats are very misleading. Sorry ploks!

That is what it boils down to, if he keeps playing like he did in the previous two games, regardless of his critics, I don't want to see him dropped for Matic again any time soon, but with Mikel back in the team, hopefully it'll give Matic some inspiration.

That's hardly surprising considering hes a defensive midfielder.

I know he is. As he hasn't started alot if games in the period on ploks stats, you have to take into account how he was used in those appearances.

If he had played 90 mins in all those appearances, then it would better to judge, but I'd hazard a guess most of those appearances were as a sub.

It's not a bash at mikel, just pointing out those statistics are meaningless, when you take into account the nature of his appearances.

Your right about the statistics, I really dont like the overuse of them in football now. For example, to get a true indication you would have to take into account which players were available in those games, how many days between games, which ref and on and on and on....

And of course, who we were playing!

Mikel is probably the only one that has the discipline and positional awareness to play in the DM role. On his day, Matic could be dominating, but he has made too many mistakes this season, and not covering for his team mates when the counter is on. Has Mikel scored this season yet? What's the odds he will beat Hazard to the next goal?

Obi Mikel is a Biafran, forced to be a Nigerian through the barrel of gun, supported by the British.

All the popular Nigerian footballers who have done well are mostly of Biafran extraction.

Oliseh, Okocha, Nw**kwo, Obi, Enyeama, Sunday Mba. Etc etc.

And when you hear Nigeria players in Europe, it means Biafrans forced to be Nigerians.

Ken Okonkwo is a Biafra, Iheanacho of Man City is.

Nedu Onuohia is of Igbo tribe of Biafra.

Chuba Akpoms born to Biafran Father.

Biafrans love Chelsea!?
