The story is he has "gone away to think about it". He's made it clear he wants to be at Chelsea. What's there to think about? Should be signing it there and then.

Great news if he's been offered a new deal but I suspect the same issues will pop up in twelve months time if he re-signs.

They haven’t really treated him very well by waiting this long to offer him one. It should have been done when we announced Conte if the manager was wanting to keep him.

I mean he will no doubt have had offers and thinking he’s leaving he might have made some plans who knows?

I’m glad we finally have seen sense but just hope it’s not too late. JT has said he is leaving, I hope he reconsiders now.

Lets hope he signs now , would look rather daft after publicly saying he wants to stay and then does not.

Probably so true. Would rather offer him a player/coach role but..........

Without any inside knowledge, to me it's more politics.

Jt pressured them using city years ago so the club kept him on a short leash.

Then he went public in Milton Keynes and the club have left it to the last minute to publicly put the ball back in his court.

I can't say I'm massively impressed with either party in all of this. I don't want my support to be used as currency like this.

This is my reaction/feelings but obviously I don't know other clauses. If it was just money then I'd say there's nothing to consider, he's not exactly poor. I doubt (hope) that would be any stumbling block.

China have probably offered him something mental like £300k a week. 

Didn't we offer Lamps and Cole pretty sh*t renewals before they left?  I cant remember

Him considering it might be more to do with the club taking the piss offering a deal. End of the day no one likes to me made a mug of.

Could be other factors to like he may have been told he wouldn't be first choice etc

Interesting move from the club, on the day of the awards..... I am sure they will negotiate and the end result will be:

Would have liked to see Christensen return for next season to learn from the master but hopefully he will return following season and be more ready to fill the gap when JT leaves / retires.
