Matic, he was fantastic! Great tackles, excellent defense play.

JT for me, the early goal was a big factor in the win and he was superb the whole game, Matic again superb and Mikel done well against a physical side.

 

Good to have options and hopefully the rest will do Oscar good.

Could pick any of the centre-backs, Ivanovic or Matic (as usual) and make a decent case.

 

I'll go with Thibaut though. An amazing command of the 18 yard box and considering the performance Cech put in a Stoke last season, he gets it for me.

I had a hard time picking a MOTM. Very Industrial performance by the Blues. Stoke was very physical & I believe we all expected that. I choose Cesc cause these were the types of matches he would crumble under when he played for le arse. He stood his ground & waited for his chances to impact the match. Yes I was critical of him like some of you were of Mikel. Cesc has come into our side & adapted to Jose's methods. It must have been hard on him at first, but this side is looking very strong coming into the busy Xmas period. Chelsea is no longer the little horse.

Matic, then John Terry, I also think Gary Cahill had his best game for us in a while. I thought that Mikel was actually quite poor to be honest, apart from a few blocks.

JT, it was him or Matic but gave the slight edge to the Captain

Agreed on Mikel and Willian, though Mikel made some decent blocks, his passing was dreadful though, that double one two with Willian was embarrassing.

Matic.

It was a scrappy game with no players particularly standing out. In the end I've opted for Matic.

JT. Excellent movement to score the first and made defending against those thugs look easy. Honourable mention goes to Matic, who doesn't seem to have a weakness.

Think Mikel deserves a mention, not for MoM but thought he had a good game... not necessarily for what he did on the ball but his/Matic's deep positioning prevented Bojan finding pockets of space to link up Stoke's play in the middle.

What a player he is. There has been some chat floating around today about him being a contender for player of the season. The fact that a defensive orientated midfielder and EPL player of the season are being mentioned in the same sentence is a testament to how good this guy is.
