May 1, 20179 yr Willian is only really useful when your counter attacking and you want to move the ball quickly from defence to attack. He can't open an defence and lacks creativity. When a team sits back he is nearly useless, it's continuous to many touches and passing it sideways and backwards. Counter attacking he is fine though as he has lots of space. Pedro can be having a bad game but can always score out of nothing. He can score all sorts of goals and I think his play in and around the box is better than Willian. Spurs and Everton come to mind where Chelsea was lacking any spark and Pedro changes the game in one moment with a class finish.
May 1, 20179 yr His pressing is also superb, him and Kante are miles ahead of any other Chelsea player when it comes to this.

While his goal return is nothing short of brilliant, his overall play is pretty average. would not mind an upgrade (aka sanchez) Sanchez is frustrating aswell, he will be better all in all but at times his decision making is Ramires levels of dumb.

Pedro was frustrating to watch not because of his decision making, but because his first touch seemed atrocious, his link up play was poor and all in all, he seemed to be stopping our progress rather than helping it. Sanchez is a world class player, no matter what angle you see him from. And miles ahead of pedro. IF (big IF), we have an oppurtunity to sign him, then we should. Our RW needs an upgrade.
May 1, 20179 yr The criticism of him letting a game drift at times and coming into life at moments is just daft and can be said about every attacking player in the world. Nobody can be pressing yet making an impact offensively in a 90 minz game it's physically impossible especially the way Pedro plays the game. He is the perfect foil for Hazard & Costa and is arguably our most direct midfielder since Lampard. No messing around, when he gets site on goal he shoots and believes in his ability, Willian & Hazard tend to struggle in this area due to hesitation.
May 1, 20179 yr Pedros link up play is actually good when the other attackers are at it. When Costa is ruining every attack with his slow clumsy dribbling and passing it to the opposition then what chance do you have. I question if people have watched Pedro before he came here.

I was thinking the same, in defence of both Pedro and Willian but it can't be easy playing with Costa who's all round game is not great. Also two midfield players who are both defensive and not very creative. If Fabregas was in the team and a forward with a better all round game I'm sure it will help others. I do find the team relies to much on Hazard and when his man marked it can become a struggle.
May 1, 20179 yr gotta say that Pedro looked like a bonafide leader on the pitch @ Goodison yesterday - I just loved him getting on the other players to remain focus & then that goal he scored was soo excellently taken - Glad CFC grabbed him before he went to manure

I'd also add that opening goal in the league game against United at SB. I can't think of anyone else from our squad that'd be buzzing around the defence like that, and he showed his speed, control and finishing ability to put it in the net. I've no doubt Jose would've had a defensive game plan, and that blew it out the water. I'm a big fan, but even I thought he was having a bad game...then he sticks it in the top corner! He works very hard and finds space well, makes good runs etc and eventually that pays off, as it did yesterday. Only a top class player can pull something from nothing like that. That's not to say there aren't upgrades out there, but he's played a big part in our season and is clearly a team player, so I imagine Conte is a big fan!
May 1, 20179 yr He seems to have endless energy. The only negative is that he sometimes plays at such a direct and high tempo that he struggles to keep up his presicion, when it works he is superb though.

There was one play I remember yesterday where he ran out of steam - Pedro tracked back & went all the way to the endline - He received the ball only to pass it so he could catch his breath - It was in the first half - tbf we needed Pedro to track back on that play because Everton were on a legit counter & because Pedro tracked back, he stopped Everton from creating a chance in our box
May 2, 20179 yr He can be frustrating to watch in my opinion, but he has hit some big goals this year, that one at Everton was awesome. Whammy.

May 12, 20179 yr Was watching them throw him up, there were fewer to catch and they definitely threw him up higher. Even they were amazed how high they threw him when they finished.
May 16, 20179 yr I have been very impressed by him this season. Some goal at Goodison a few weeks ago.
