You never know who will be good, but Tammy has been bossing youth and Championship level for a while. He just needs a shot with top players around him to learn from. I think loans to struggling prem sides or mid table championship sides won't do much for his development. I would like to bring him back and have him as back up behind a elite level striker and Giroud.
November 27, 20187 yr Author Don't want to be too critical of the club (again) as we could all produce a long list of players we thought were good enough and who would make it only for them to have slipped down and down the leagues, many never to be heard of again. Even with Tammy, I have seen him struggle at times and had my doubts that he would make it at the top level. But sometimes these youngsters need to be shown a bit of faith and given a chance. Hand on Heart, could anyone watching both Abraham and Morata over a period of time, honestly say that Morata is much the better striker and worth £60M compared to whatever Tammy's current market rate is? At least Abraham would give EVERYTHING and wouldn't spend half the game on his arse moaning at the ref and the rest of the game offside. He had a phenomenal record at Chelsea youth level and at Bristol and now at Villa he has a record of a goal every other game plus a decent record at England U21 level. He even started well at Swansea but then was effected by injury and the fact he was playing in a sh*t team battling relegation. I'm not certain he IS Chelsea first team standard, but right now I honestly think he would put in a better shift than our current No. 29.

Our development coaches should be able to identify the most likely's and the next to no chancers, i mean a few years back even i could tell Mason Mount had a serious chance of making it but Fankaty Dabo didn't, and i haven't done a days coaching course in my life.
November 28, 20187 yr Jesus christ, the championship is a cake walk for him, he's just scored his 4th goal this game.. No idea why he wasnt given another premier league loan

November 28, 20187 yr Too good for the Championship, if he hadn’t of been at such a poor Swansea side last season he may have made more of an impact on the Premier League. We’re likely to shake up our striking options in the summer. If Tammy has a 20+ goal season for Villa he’s done all that can be asked of him to put his name in the mix.

November 28, 20187 yr There might be some better ones, but these were some highlights I found of the match.
November 29, 20187 yr Couple of nice headed goals in there. If nothing else he's got a habit of being in the right place at the right time and that's all you can ask of your strikers. Bit like how Diego used to be, doesn't score many worldies but just has a knack of being able to rack up the goals.
November 29, 20187 yr Author Villa can be thankful it wasn't Morata we loaned them otherwise they would have lost 5-1.
November 29, 20187 yr He's still 21, have a long career in front of him and he will become better and better for sure. He knows how to score goals, we must keep him next season. Patience is needed here!
November 29, 20187 yr There's a load of sh*t written about his time at Chelsea, as I tried to explain during the summer, when I said we should have kept him. I was utterly dismayed we loaned him out. At the start of last season he was still a teenager. Consider that. He scored 1 goal in 5 for the Swans, in his debut season in the PL, with many of those games as sub, in a struggling side. We had people on these boards saying they had watched him at Swansea and they had watched him in pre-season and he hadn't impressed. We had people saying he'd never make the grade. These people are know-nothings. It is way too early to tell but he has every chance, because he has been exceptional at youth level and in his first season as a professional at Bristol City. Exceptional. Because he didn't bang in 20 goals for Swansea people write him off. They don't take into account his age and the fact the PL is a massive step up in level. It takes time. Lampard was 23 when he joined us and he was nothing special in his first season or two believe me. It's way too early to be making a judgement. All I know is he is an outstanding prospect and anyone who doesn't understand that is an idiot. We have people on here now saying the Championship will be his level. What? You know this how? Because you're an idiot. I would suggest so. I said he'd be our number two striker by the time the season was out. I said he would get plenty of game-time, especially as we only have 2 strikers in the squad. He needs games to develop but I felt he would get sufficient games and over the course of the season he would climb up the pecking order. For me, going back to the Championship is a massive error. Yes he gets to play at a big club, yes he gets to score goals and boost his confidence, but he really didn't have a poor season last term. We know Cardiff wanted him this season and I'm sure there were other PL clubs. We may have been worried he wouldn't get sufficient game-time but for me the choice was between keeping him or loaning him out to a PL club, with the option of recalling him in Jan if he wasn't getting games. We're crap at nurturing kids, probably the worst in the world. We have no idea how to do it. RLC more or less wasted 2 years of his career before his loan last term, and he's wasting another year of his career this term, and he was superb at youth level, seriously impressive, but you have to cut young players some slack and you need to give them games. Ampadu is another being wasted. He's clearly ready. He doesn't need a loan. He should be in the starting XI right now. He's outstanding. The reason JT became a legend was because we gave him games. He was good enough and we played him, and he became better, through playing. Well we have some outstanding youngsters at our club but they'll never become half the players they could be if they don't play. Tammy's done the Championship, kept Bristol City up single-handedly. We're stifling his development with this loan. He did the PL last season. It wasn't great but it really wasn't bad. We had no right to expect anything more when you factor in everything. It was a healthy step in his development. It represented progress, progress from which we needed to build. Instead we've gone backwards because we're clueless. Edit: Absolutely pathetic. Well we have some outstanding youngsters at our club but they'll never become half the players they could be if they don't play. Totally agree Davey. And it has little to do with the managers in charge. It is the culture of our club's hierarchy. And it has been since Roman took over. I could kinda understand it at the beginning with the goal to turn us into a global brand. But as time has gone it seems to have become a policy which the numerous managers have had to go along with in Roman's quest for immediate success. You could argue the policy made sense when we were top of the financial football tree and could buy the best players in the world. But now that we aren't, and don't, it makes absolutely no sense at all. I have said this before, IMO JT would not have made it at Chelsea if he was coming through now. He would not have been given the chance. And if he was, and made a mistake or two, he would have been straight of the side. Edited November 30, 20187 yr by just
November 30, 20187 yr I watched him a few times for Swansea and he probably got the worse service of any striker in the league. If sigurdsson had stayed, Tammy would've hit 15 for Swansea and they probably would've stayed up. His goal scoring record is pretty phenomenal for his age, he's probably going to end up with over 50 championship goals in 2 seasons, at only 21. Unfortunately it is very unlikely he will get chance here, without a highly successful season on loan at a premier league club, mason mount is in the same boat, and both players shouldve been at premier league club this season in my opinion.
November 30, 20187 yr Maybe a loan to the Bundesliga would be a good move? They give youth a real chance over there and they really seem to know how to develop their players. I'm a fan of Tammy - he has all the physical attributes, he looks in phenomenal shape. He just needs an opportunity.
December 4, 20187 yr There were rumours around that we are planning to bring Abraham back in January and give him a chance since our strikers aren't really impressive. John Terry had talks with Chelsea about leaving Abraham to Villa until the end of the season.

December 5, 20187 yr Looks desperate on the club if we bring him back to soon. I can't help wonder if Moses could make a backup striker until the end of the season. He can't cross yet does have a decent shot and certainly has the lungs to beat a defender or close one down.
December 5, 20187 yr People praising Tammy for being in the right place at the right time yet use that as a reason for why Batshuayi shouldn't play as its all he can do. Two similar strikers, however i'd rather see Batshuayi have a go before Tammy.

December 5, 20187 yr Michy has 3 goals in 18 games, it was his good goal record that made him even remotely passable as a top flight footballer now he's not even offering that.

Tammy was sh*te at Swansea with his goal return, yet people wanna give him a chance?
