It wasn't to be taken entirely seriously... I think Geoff Horsfield retired about ten years ago!

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. Great championship goal machine. Lasted half a season for Wolves in the Prem.

I'm still not convinced that Tammy IS the answer but Jesus, right now we are so toothless in attack that he HAS to be a better option so I just wish someone at the club had the balls to say "f**k it, he's our player, let's get him back and put him in the starting line-up and see how he does". Surely that is a better option than the dross we are currently being dished up game after game?

Only Sarri can make it happen, i'm sure the club would love Sarri to use Tammy and save £millions.

Absolutely Nibs, if we don't bring him back in the situation we are in with injuries, then there is something wrong with club.

So its pretty much accepted now by all that we arent selling him for a pittance, in fact we arent selling him at all. all that fuss because of one so called "in the know" tweet...

Why waste a good opportunity to slam our board that obviously know f**k all about football, instead of waiting for confirmation and then slam our board that obviously know f**k all about football  Still, a new opportunity will present itself when we don't bring him back to take the Premiership by storm.

Chelsea will make a decision on striker Tammy Abraham by 14 January. The 21-year-old is on loan at Aston Villa but can be recalled two weeks into the January transfer window due to the terms of the deal. (Telegraph)

We should only recall him if we seriously plan on using him. He's having a good season which is good for his development. Playing time is what he needs.

I agree we should only recall him if we are going to play him and right now we HAVE to play him so recall him!

No point developing these players if they end up elsewhere. Tammy could be really fortunate here. Sometimes circumstances mean you get a chance and if he does and he grabs it, this could be a massive point in his career. Let's hope.............................

I thought the thinking is its Tammy himself who wants to activate the recall as he wants to go to a premier league team on loan?

Being reported the Wolves deal fell through as clarification is needed on whether playing for us in a u23 game constitutes having already played for two clubs. FIFA to make ruling.

U23 games are competitive so technically he has played for two clubs this season...same thing happened to Ben Arfa who played for Newcastle U21s which stopped him playing for Nice...

As others have said, only keep him if the club are serious about intergrating into the first team. If not, sell him and use the money Ona replacement. It’s not as if we’re overstacked in any department.

Kasey Palmer played in an u23's premier league game, then for Huddersfield and Derby last season, so I'm not sure that ruling still applies for youth games.

I know he played in the charity shield but supposedly that was already ruled a friendly under FIFA rules. I didn't know about the U23 game but that could indeed be a showstopper. If so he would then have to choose between staying at Villa, or returning to Chelsea for the second half of the season. I would love to see us give him a go with Giroud injured, and Morata looking more and more like a lost cause here.

So, Chelsea are looking to bring him back in January and then send him on loan to a Premier League side? I think that's what I read either last night or today? I mean we need some attacking depth, bring him back and let him play some here? Or we send him to a premier league team for a half season and he barely plays there bc that manager doesn't want to play him and then see him leave? Idk why not give him game time at Chelsea (obviously it won't be a lot) but he can also learn Sarri's system? Idk or just let him finish the season in the Championship since hes playing as well as he is

Exactly. He is currently full of confidence and with our striker problems he will probably never have a better opportunity to stake a claim.

Do we trust Tammy unproven in the EPL and risk 4th or go for an established proven goals scorer like Wilson?

If we decide not to go for a proven striker then no objections to Tammy coming back.

Anyone know what's happening with Bats I heard his Valencia loan was not working too well?

Yes because Abraham is one of our own & developing him will be cheaper in the long run & also more fruitful because of his potential

We have been down this average PL forwards far too many times & it hasn’t worked out; bar Anelka can’t think of any one else that has been a success here.

Pay a massive 6mth loan fee and if it works out, buy in the summer. Better than getting stuck with him for 4 more years on massive wages if he flops.

Callum Wilson has respectively 5 (13), 6 (20), 8 (28) and currently 9 (16) goals in Premier League, whilst playing for an offensive minded, decent team. When he played for the best team in the Championship, as a 22 year old, he netted 20 goals in 45 appearances.

Tammy Abraham, as a 19 year old, playing for a team that came in 17th in the Championship, had 23 goals in 41 appearances. He then had 5 goals for the third worst team in the Premiership. Now he's back at championship, still younger than what Wilson was when he was there, and has 16 goals in 20 matches for a poor Aston Villa-team.

If we were to buy Wilson for the quoted 40 to 50 millions, it would be one of the worst purchases in our history. Can he turn out good? Maybe, though I doubt it, he's just not good enough in my opinion. But that is besides the point; we already have a homegrown, talented striker on our books, born and bred through our system. Wilson is neither young, nor jumping off scale with his quality, and this would be another Drinkwater in the making, leaving another position to be strengthened after a half-arsed purchase.

last i've read is that he wants to stay at Valencia.

Bats isn't coming back though... Maybe Palace if he moves.

Sarri when asked about the possibility of Bats coming back

Sarri said: "The club knows very well my opinion. I think we need something different for characteristics."

Wilson can play false 9, he isn't strictly a #9 like Morata. I think that may be factor if the club decides to buy Wilson.

Wilson isn't a false 9. He's a striker, that can come deep, but in no way is he able to drop in and be a playmaker, in a way that would define him as a false 9. He doesn't have that in his locker at all.

Realistically Bournemouth would want at least £40m for him, and even though we have made some horrible signings in previous years, I really can't see us willing to pay anywhere near that.

Didn't sarri also pour cold water on it aswell due to his friendship with Howe?

Either way I don't think, and I hope he isn't coming here, he isn't better than what we have.
